This is our third year.

The first year we had to use the Bosch motors during our rookie year...all our failures were due to those lousy transmissions...

We had problems almost every heat that year...

So last year was such a relief that a decent tranny was included, simple and unbreakable...

So why was the second CIM motor replaced?

From what I can see, the original transmission design from 2005 will no longer work.

I know after examining the new kit gearbox, that you are correct. you cannot use the same drive train from last year, but has anyone seen the build instructions for the 06' kit gearbox? Ive been looking for it for a few hours and the link in the FIRST page in section 5 is NO GOOD! :(

Anyone have any suggestions? were trying to just get one side running to test but i don't want to "If ALL else fails, READ the directions" method.

well, it says to refer to the 2005 manual...

We watched the video again and it is the old manual for using two identical CIM motors...

You can run the gearbox with 1 of the old CIM motors.
Or, per rule R43, you can purchase 2 more of the small CIMs from last year and use 4 of them this year.

This is great. So you can build one of your transmissions and test it..then order two more motors for the other one...

Alternately while you wait, you can run each tranny with one motor.

I guess I should read the manual.
