View Full Version : nouveau-nerd
Ok, so what exactly is a nouveau-nerd and do you consider yourself one?
using a dictionary here is the definition I put together:
nouveau-nerd - a newly arrived or developed, unstylish, unattractive, socially inept person, who is slavishly devoted to intellectual or academic pursuits.
nouveau - is newly arrived or developed like the english word (novel)
nerd - an unstylish, unattractive, socially inept person, who is slavishly devoted to intellectual or academic pursuits.

Aww, you don't have to be unstylish, unattractive, or socially inept to be a nerd. I've known plenty of nerds that aren't any of those. As far as nouveau goes, I am certainly not a nouvelle-nerd, I've been a nerd as long as I can remember. Back in the day (in elementary school) I used to only read science books. Since then I've branched out a bit, but I'm still hard core science all the way. Yeah...

Nerd since the first minute i joined FIRST. Never thought that was one of the side-effects of FIRST, but I'm not complaining!! Being a nerd opens up whole new sides of life that would be otherwise just shut away in a dark corner. To you nouveau-nerds out there, you've made the right choice!

"nouveau: French term meaning 'new', indicates a style of light, fruity, young, immediately drinkable wine, and most often applies to Beaujolais."
Hahaha we are wine?
