MAX software not working

I have installed the LabVIEW software and drivers and also have CMUcam2. When i open Measurement and Automation Explorer, the only options in the tree are "My System" and "Remote Systems". Under My System i click on the devices and interfaces category but there are no COM ports or anything. I have reinstalled everything 3 times and yes i have my serial-USB adapter plugged in while opening it. Everything works fine on a teammates computer. Please help!

Sounds like you haven't installed NI VISA (http://www.ni.com/visa/). Install the latest version, reboot, and try MAX again. Your serial ports will then show up and your CMUcam2 will work in LabView.

Wow thank you. Isnt it a bit odd that when a teammate followed the exact same steps i did, it worked for him but not me... oh well. Problem solved.
