CmuCam Questions?

We are working on the CMUcam and we are having some problems. First, we got the camera to work in LabVIEW, but when we tried to follow the directions in the CMUcam manual. Everytime we tried to grab a frame after loading the target file, the camera would disconnect from the serial port and then we would exit the LabVIEW program and restart. The same thing would happen (that happened last night).

When we went to work on the camera today, the camera wouldn't connect at all. We went to hyper terminal to try and connect and it still wouldn't work. Also, everytime we turned the camera on and off, we get a different combination of light, for example green by itself, then red & green, then all three lights.

We believe there is something wrong with the camera. We received the camera Monday from IFI, it has only been used once.

When starting on a new day, always triple check your connections and your power.

There is a standing problem with the frame grab hanging the application. We are trying to solve it, but no one here has been able to reproduce it. I've posted a version here on 2006.01.25 (http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/showthread.php?t=41214) to attempt to narrow down the cause of the issue. Please try it and let me know what your results are. Of course, if it still won't respond in Hyper Terminal, then you have other problems to solve first. It is unlikely that your camera is bad unless you hooked up power with reverse polarity.
