Well, sorta. Today's episode they re-did the death ray myth using mirrors and sun.
They decided to show off various fan made submissions, including the MIT one, which oddly enough featured someone we knew. It was short, very short part, but watch for the end of it where they "confirm" the myth, and look at the guy on the left!

Myth BUSTED
Myth BUSTED
Like it was TO BEGIN WITH :D People seemed to froget that the myth was if archimedies actually did it, not if it was possible.
In any case, ill have to watch it again to catch that, Did anyone see the VEX robot on the desk an episode ago?
It would be awsome if they did an episode from the championship!

Who knows? Grant was in Atlanta at the Championships last year, so maybe someone can get to him to get Adam and Jamie there.

I also caught the glimpse of Woodie in the episode this week.
I was watching it with my girlfriend, and Woodie pops up on the screen and i start freaking out and saying "WOAH ITS WOODIE", so of course the girlfriend looks at me with a confused look and says "Ohh that robotics guy with the pony tail?" and then I am very disapointed when he isn't there at the mythbusters lab helping them build the death ray.
It would be awsome if they did an episode from the championship!
I met Adam and Jaime and escorted them around Wired's NEXTfest in Chicago this summer and after they did a presentation I mentioned that they should come to the Championships.
They are actually pretty nice guys and I wouldn't doubt it if they showed up sometime within the next 3 years.

First of all, let me say that I missed the original airing of this episode because, oddly enough, MIT cable doesn't carry the Discovery Channel...
Anyway, when I did see it I saw some familiar faces and locations, as the picture above indicates. You can barely see the top of my dorm behind the "boat." The parking garage they were on top of is where we park team 97's pickup truck. Also, the star of the show was professor David Wallace, who co-teaches a drawing/CAD/machining class that I'm taking right now. (2.670 - Intro to Mechanical Engineering Tools) In a week, I will be starting 2.007, the robotics competition formerly known as 2.70 back when Woodie taught it. It should be an interesting experience for me, having been on FIRST teams for four years, to participate in the competition that helped inspire it. I'll try to post some updates on how it goes. :)

That would be amazing, There robot experince alone is enough for me to wish to meet them. Heck, i want to see Jamies "Life and Death Machine" In person, and they have Grant Imahara as a mythbuster now, He built Deadblow of battelbots fame.
I could see Adam and Jamie coming to Nationals and giving a presentation about the importance of Science and Technology in our lifetime, as well as how they got started in their field. I'd definitely be interested in this.

Jamie did special effects for a loooooonnnnnnnggggggg time, and both he and Adam built combat robots for a while. Anyways, I'd rather see them bust a myth like, "Can a Poof-Slinky 7" foam Jr. Basketball break a car windshield?" :p.

Ohhh i want to see that episode! "FIRST Myths"
"Can a Poof-Slinky 7" foam Jr. Basketball break a car windshield?"
"Just how far can you fire a poof ball if you had no limits?"
"How many poofballs you can make into the center goal as fast as possible if you had no limit?"
Honistly, i thought they might be doing something like this when i saw the teaser for the next episode, but alas its dealing with the helium footbal myth

My suggestion would be try to get their emails, or workshop address, and send them invitations to nationals. Their addresses are probably unregistered or well hidden, but things like that can be found if enough research is done. And just send them as many invitations as we can.
And just send them as many invitations as we can.
Which is the reasoning behind having a hidden address.
One invitation should be plenty.
I'd Recommend talking with Team 841. Grant is a close (almost only) mentor on their team, and he'd probably be more than willing to talk the guys into stopping by the Nationals. BTW, he stopped by the Davis Regional with a sprained ankle from the show and spoke to the teams.
(my very first post :) , forgive any etiquette rules I'm breaking here...)

http://www.adamsavage.com/contact.html (Adam Savage's personal website contact info)
Took a Google search for M5 mythbusters (Since i couldn't remember the full title of Jamie's company). If anyone wants to take it to the next level, Find email addresses for the rest of the mythbuster team :D (its 4am here and i don't really feel like searching more)
One note, please respect there contact requests on their websites, We do not want to make them hate FIRST by not following their contact rules.

If anyone hasn't seen this episode or hasn't seen Woodie on it, I've attached a picture to my post so everyone can see him. (Sorry about the low quality)

If any one saw this and was at the Boston regional I believe that the Professor who is on the show for most of it was also in the pits in boston.
