Awesome! Are you intending to launch a row of balls, like you did in the beginning of the clip, at competition? If so how accurate is that?

In the interest of making it as easy as possible for people to view your most awesome video clip, I have compressed it to a more manageable size for distribution on the internet. This comes with a quality loss, but 840kB is a bit more manageable than 4.9 MB.

It requires QuickTime 6 or later.

I'm thinking it's about time the piemaster gets a Mac. Or at least QT... ;)
Well, one thing has now been confirmed by that teaser - we now know that the ball feeder is really Kyle :yikes:
ok its working for me now, guess it was just the fact that I WAS USING A MAC! :ahh: :ahh: :ahh: Looks interesting, how well does it aim?

Since a lot of teams decided to use AndyMark's product, Andy had to come up with a totally new idea. He decided to send kyle out on the field as part of the robot.

I'm pretty baffled by the implications of such a device. I could see it being used to collect balls but it doesn't look like its built for such a purpose. It certaintly has the strength to launch a ball into a goal, but its far too wide to be precise. And launching 4 at a time doesn't seem like a very feasible idea so I see no reason to make it able to. I'm sure i'll be proven wrong though and the technokats will launch 4 balls into a goal at a time... I'm always proven wrong. Somebody always does the impossible. Not that i'm complaining but I want more than a teaser!

Then again, it is only a teaser....Im sure theres some major detail they're leaving out. Those guys definately know what they're doing and the end result should be impressive as usual
how ironic would it be if team 45 wasnt using an andymark gearbox on thier bot.... that would make me laugh quite hard.

That was pretty cool, we were also thinking about using a wide roller to launch 2 balls at once, but it was too inaccurate and plus our roller loss too much speed, but yours has alot of power.
Ya I think it just comes from having a lot of mass in your rollers. Oh and wow that thing is incredibly wide.
Great teaser. We will be looking forward to your competition design.

I kind of like the way it winds up, jet engine like. It must be that Rolls-Royce jet engine influence from Indiana. Drivers now must wear hearing protection and safety glasses.
Fast massive infusion of balls into the corner goal?

That's almost exactly what I tried to convince my team to do. Looks like you have it working quite nicely.

Thats it! They're designing their robot with the sole purpose of overloading the supposedly super camera, ball counting system that FIRST is setting up in the corner goals.

I can say from personal experience that this year is going to be a noisy one, if my team is any measure (and it seems to be).
Good thing we don't have to worry about OSHA regulations on noise. Large roller systems tend to get a little noisy.
