I tried the search for the Q&A and didn't come up with anything
then again I'm not that good with searches...

anyways, we have a build a few models for our animation and have put the materials on them, the problem is if I try to modify them or animate (not render, just like make them move) and/or move the perspective view point around, it all moves VERY slowly, making my work go even slower
if I press J (or f3 I forgot which one is it) the materials and colours go off in the screen but it still all move very slowly, and is very heavy on the computer

what can I do to make 3ds max work faster? any way to ignore materials for now?, thanks... =)

another problem I'm having is (well 2 more)
is when I use GLOW effects the glow goes through the material for example:
I put the glow on a oil tank primitive object (extended?)
and then put the oil tank inside a tube
put glow on the oil tank and the glow is seen from all sides of the tube (not just the tips as I want it to),+is the inferno affects something that moves when animated?

last one:when I look around in the perspective view port and I press that circle button (buttom right) to move around, sometimes it moves all over the place and I have to undo all of my view port changes inorder to restore control over the device, is this a bug? or is there a way to fix it?

thanks all and have a good week

1. hide some objects that you don't need to be displayed.
2. Muti-sub materials on the object and set the material ID in the object and the video post.
3. set the circle thing to yellow.
