This is what she looks like now (this is the prototype. The duct tape will be replaced).
She is working quite well.
Hope to shoot some video from the Wednesday meeting.

are those Vex Gears on the shooter?

Looks pretty cool, being done this early will mean a lot of practise time, meaning a great drive team. Awesome job guys

Yep, those are Vex gears.
Like I said, this one is the prototype which will be used for practice. The actually robot is being built up in another part of the site.

Wow, that is a really awesome design. I can't wait to see it in action at FLR.

Is the lexan shielding an extendible blocker?

Oh that's what you call her. ;)
We call her The Weapon of Mass Destruction (http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-9033831214735908524) .She nearly took out three girls, including my all-star animator. Thank God she's so tiny. :D

Three pounds?
That wouldn't even qualify for Lego League!

yes, but i'd be willing to bet it could rip a Lego 'bot to shreds...i've seen those things, and they can be fiece (think doberman the size of a chiuahua)

We took X-WhAAAt!!! out of storage to spar with our practice bot X-O Uh-Oh! After watching the Winter Warzone and watching offensive effcient bots get beat down that we needed to get good at dealing with physical interaction with taller bots.
I took video of all the fun as well.

Well we were pretty happy with the performance of the little bot today at the Rochester Rally. It performed pretty consistently and we were able to test and make shots from every starting position without the use of the Camera ( since it was cut off to be placed on the Final bot) For a bunch of parts hobbed together with a bunch of c-clamps and a lot of duct tape it was working well on field of competitors.

Ed,

I didnt get a close look at the 191 bot at FLL, but watching it on the field it looked like the ball was being launched by a catapult arm

but all the photos here have shooter wheels

whats the story? did the arm only feed the wheels to shoot the ball, or did you guys have a last minute scramble re-design?!

The catapult lifts the ball into the shooter.
