Very interesting-looks like you're using a spiral magazine. Is the pic from the bottom up or the top down?

I'm the captain of the mechanical team for Team 612.
This is a picture of our shooting mechanism. Our main shooting wheels are mounted low (to lower center of gravity) and this lexan tube brings the ball up to a rotating turret. The picture is looking up (you can see the ceiling tiles).

Neat! So you have a turret? I should have noticed those ceiling tiles.
(Note to self: don't post at night, while you're asleep. )

Yeah, we have a lexan turret mounted on a foot-wide bearing. It'll be manually and automatically controlled. I don't want to give too much away, but I'm pretty excited about it. I haven't seen any other pictures on this forum that come anywhere close to what we have built.
We'll post some more pictures as the deadline approaches. We'll be at Richmond/VCU and Annapolis regionals.

Captain of mechanical team eh Nate? Haha for a mechanical lead I don't see you working in too many pics on your team website ;) Just hassling you, you're a good man. So hey those lights there on your robot.. i hope your underweight unless your hopper is powered by photosynthesis :) nah its pretty, after all we had those sweet lights on ol' Tommyhawk 5 which has now become a salvage item. By the way what kind of drive train are you boasting on that bad boy? Considering that you are half me and i am half you I'm hoping its something nifty.
looks nice, keep in touch, come back to Merrimack sometime soon.

Yeah, I was too busy working on our shipping crate :)
You know your pit crate? Remember who designed that? That was totally me.
I was building another for 612 for the past two weeks, and at the same time supervising the mech team (actually, explaining how to use things like wire strippers and needle-nose pliers).

ah i see, that explains why its such a total ripoff of the Chopshop crate, yet totally not nearly as cool ;) nah its cool i know your dad did alot on ours and nashuas. we use them to this day... their l33t! now is yours for bot and tools or one for bot one for tools like us? cause if its just for tools, get a toolchest in there like us. do it if you're tough! :)

It's for the bot and the tools. Cuz we aren't cool enough (and we don't have the money) to ship two crates. It's made so that that table folds up into the box to fit the robot in. The tools go in the sides in those drawers and bins, along with spare parts and the like.
Toolchests don't make you tough. However, plastic drawers do make you manly.
