Wow...that is really awesome.
Good to see the rivets are back! And I love the battery placement.

Incredible product, once again! I, too, am glad to see that the rivets are back - you guys really do a fantastic job of building a robot that transcends the bounds of form and function :)

oooohhhh, shiny...
no, seriously. Looks really solid. What kind of drive configuration do you have? It looks really awesome...keep up the good work! :]

What kind of drive configuration do you have?
The two front Omni Wheels are non driven.
The back four are all driven. Of the two pair, in back, the two front ones only make contact on the ramp. They have a single strip on conveyor material on them so we get more weight on wheels. They are also 1/4 of an inch off the floor when on flat ground.
The trannies are a two speed configuration we had last year. They are shift on the fly.
The gold trough sticking out the front is for practicing shooting. We will have a chute to bring the ball from the magazine to the shooting wheels.
We are using two large Cim's for the shooter. We can get the correct distance with only one Cim if we have too.

Fitting name.
It looks great. I like the gold parts especially. Looks intimidating.

I don't know about Dave, but Jay says that's pimp!
It looks like you haev a solid bot once again, I can't wait to see how she works in competition.
Good luck!

It might be because of last year's robot.

Cause we did the same thing this year. Used Monocoque construction. It's 0.40 thick Gold Plated Aluminum. There is no "frame" per say, just channels. Like how an airplane fuselage is made.

:ahh: How much did that cost?

We buy it from Sherman Racing. He is a race car body guy.
We got it for $75.00 for a 4 x 10 sheet.

awesome looking product yet again!

I like how the ball collector looks like a magazine on a gun (even curved so the balls dispense faster). Very aesthetic. Make sure you polish it before competition!

Looks nice, but due to the nature of the compitition this year (hitting is allowed) that design seems EXTREMELY prone to being tipped.

Bolts > Rivets
I may not agree with what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.

I want to make a monocoque chassis from a plywood core and laminated glass/epoxy skins (cause I've built boats like that, but I don't know from rivets). Alas, my teammates are transfixed by aluminum structures, and all I can do is dream of the organic shapes that might have been. Is it bad to think of starting a new FIRST team just to have more influence over the materials and methods selection process?

Ooo. Pretty...
I'd show you a picture of our robot with all of it's parts on... if I had one.
They parts are all on, but none of them do anything :) We frantically put it together before Unveiling last night so we would have more than just a driving chassis.

Incidental contact is allowed. Intentional ramming is not! :ahh: The monocoque design is very light weight when you use .040" aluminum.
There are going to be allot of bots with a high COG this year.
We practiced going up the ramp, a couple of days ago, with the battery in the middle of the bot. It went up the ramp on it's back four wheels. Didn't tip over. We plan on having the battery towards the front to get the front two wheels on the ramp.
