It's the shooter! It looks great and i guess the last pic was a pic of the mechanism which will transport the balls from the hopper to the shooter.

Now I think I know how this is going to work. The middle roller is powered, and the outer rails form a helix. By spinning the middle roller, the balls will be forced up the helix and into the shooter, which is mounted on a turret. If it is what I think it is, that is one really nice design. I cannot wait to see this robot in Atlanta this year. :)

you're right.... its not pink yet... and we ARE cutting it a little close for the powder coating. dont worry, the second its pink (it should be getting coated tomorrow) and we get a picture, we'll post some pics for all of you. :D




and artdutra04... thats what we have been calling an Archemidies Screw. :)

if thats true... holy crap.
thats just asking for jamming up with the tolerances we can pull out... but heh. btw does powdercoating weight much?

powdercoating is actually pretty heavy... it can add about 3 lbs or so.. give or take (i'm sorry i cant give you an exact number right now), depending on how much of the actual robot we want pink. :) its a lot of weight to sacrifice, but its well worth it!
