Do you guys think that metal mesh for windows can be used to shield wires from crosstalk?

You mean window screen? Not a good choice. Best options are:

1. separate sensitive wires from other wires (dont bunch together in a bundle with motor wires)

2. use a shielded cable.

Same here. We aren't having a crosstalk problem, I just wanted to see if we could, just to optimize.

Yeah, generally it is a bad idea to have a signal wire running parallel to a power wire. This is just as true with robots as it is with home audio equipment. What you could do is wrap some aluminum foil around the signal wires to hopefully insulate against the magnetic fields being generated.
