well even though AFTERSHOCK is the coolest name ever, there are a few other names that i like too. they include...
Robbe (i like the idea of having a robot with a real name)
Aztechs (cute pun thingy)
Pobots (sounds awesome)

erm...maybe i just have a thing for robots that were at the LI Regional and in the Curie Division at Nationals...

oh well..everyone spells it wrong for some reason....there was even a "joke going around" and it seemed like everything that had TechnoKats on it was spelled wrong thanks to Mike Soukup...i even think the Beatty quiz at Nationals had it spelled wrong...:D

Yeah... "Pack of Trojans", "TechnoKats" and "ThunderChickens" all get my vote. Heh heh Some students on our team got talking about the team Pack of Trojans... the discussion lead to what they could give out for swappables... what they could use for bumpers... all sorts of interesting things - I'll name no specifics here, I think you can figure them out by yourselves!

How many teams out there share a name? I know 340 and 973 are both GRR. How original.

Most confusing team name i would vote ComBBAT. All the new students squint at it and try to say "Com-b-bat" like it's three syllables.

Personally, i like Who? and SPAM. Simple...easy to remember....not difficult to pronounce. oh, and i liked Bagel Bytes too.

Aftershock was within a few votes of being named something like "Woodchucks" y'know. :)

Nobody liked Aftershock that first year, except for me.

Not voting for my own team, and our awesome name (Woo Mechanical Bulls!), I'd have to give it Apes of Wrath and SPAM, I think :)

OK...now the best names: Cheesey Poofs, Who? (I like the robot name too...What?), SPAM (of course...:þ...and I love the whole Superman idea too!), and the one with the BEST moto: Thunderchickens..."Engineering new ways to cross the road." My friend who's not involved with FIRST (will be next year) just died laughing when she saw that....then I did too! Whoever thought of that is a genius! OK...ya'll all probably think I'm weird now cuz I'm amazed by that moto......oh well.....:cool:

There are so many cool team names though... I'm always like, "why didn't we name our team that?" Exploding Bacon was one of the first really awesome names I noticed, along with the Cheesy Poofs and the ThunderChickens... I guess I have a thing for teams that sound like food products blowing up? :p

One of my favorite ones that has not been mentioned is the Kil-A-Bytes because of their team number, 1024.
I also like HOT (Heroes of Tomorrow), Robowranglers, Rhode Warriors, Robotic Plaque.

I like the the name "Thunderchickens," since its both imposing and silly at the same time (but more imposing, especially this year :ahh: ).

Also, Cheesy Poofs.

I also think alternate team names, or team nicknames, are cool since it kind of gives a sense of closeness in FIRST. Take team 71 for example, their official team name is Team Hammond, but everybody knows which team I am referring to when I say Beatty.

I'm a fan off the pink team... mainly because if I remember right none of the guys on the team when it was first starting came to the name picking meeting, so the womenfolk chose pink. lols were had by all.
