SENSORS:

Photoelectric sensor tells RC when robot is close enough to wall to release balls. In autonomous mode, robot knows to release balls, during human operation, lights illuminate on the Operator Interface to indicate to the operator that the robot is close enough to release the balls into the goal.

The Allen Bradley photoelectric sensors detect when a ball crosses its path, this sends a signal to the RC which then activates the rollers of the ball pick up system to spin. This allows for optimum battery conservation and effective ball retrieval.

HIGH GEAR @ 2655 RPM: 13.88 hpTry again. That's enough horsepower to get a one ton car up to freeway speeds. I'm thinking your decimal point needs to shift one place to the left. But why would your horsepower change between high and low gear?

And for your "max power" numbers, since when is power measured in ft-lbs. Where is the unit of time?

i suspect they meant torque at max power (not max power itself).

Okay, my mistake for misreading your table. But I still don't understand how even cumulatively all the robots in one match could put out 34 horsepower.

hp = torque * RPM / 5252

hp = 68.37ft-lbs * 2655 RPM / 5252 = 34.56

But why would your horsepower change between high and low gear?

well horsepower is torque times RPM divided by a constant. there is a difference in torque at the same RPM depending on what speed it is in. motors and engines can have varying horsepowers; it depends on both the RPM and the torque at that RPM.
