I get to drive 2 different cars...(since i have a brother)
The first truck i got was a 1990 Ford Bronco II: Eddie Bauer Edition; my brother and i use it for bad weather (mainly snow). Nothing can seem to slow it down and boy is 4x4 fun :). When i mow lawns or whatever i use it to haul stuff around...
Also have a 1994 Olds Cutlass Supreme 2 door as seen below..This is what my brother and i normally drive to school and take on longer trips. It's pretty nice, excellent condition...

I am the happy and PROUD owner of 2, count em, 2 El Caminos! The "Winter Edition" is a 1982 Black El Camino with a 305 V-8, dual exhaust, twin buckets outta a 1986 MR-2, and a crazy sound system. The "Summer Edition" is a 1980 El Camino in a Midnight Blue, that is a convertible (you'd have to see the pics or talk to me about that one), with a 350, buckets outta a Monte SS, a rear bench, carpeted bed, a sunroof, floor shift, and another crazy sound system. Don't go knockin an Elky until you've either driven one, or cruized around in one!

I drice the execution-mobile a 1989 Ford Full Size Bronco, Eddie Bauer Edition
a small block V8
shift on the fly elictric 4x4 drive and a tail gate perfect for doing what my name suggests
Currently I'm rollin in my 1992 Mustang Coupe but I am also working on my project car to drive by next school year, a 1987 Mustang T-Top Hatch with 1989 (more HP) engine swap, MAC Full exhaust including headers and h-pipe. All I need to do is get a new interior (black) get the car painted (blue) and then find me 5-Star wheels and GT ground fx. I already got my clear tails (not euro, just clear with red bulb) and all clear head lights.
As for my parents, my mom drives a 1995 Mustang Cobra Hardtop/Convertible (very rare, 1 of 499) and my dad has a 1995 Mustang Cobra R that he races. We used to have the 2000 Cobra R (see pic below) but my dad sold it to help with his buisness but ended up just taking most of it and putting it into the 95 R. And btw... my dad buys/sells/races/lives Mustangs. www.mustangmotoring.com << our site created by me :)

I drive a 1999 Red Mustang Coupe. I got is as a sweet 16th Birthday present. So far I only have a system in it (2 10's with 600 watts and a Pioneer 7400Mp Head Unit). It's not too bad, spanks most of the Hondas here and most of the guys.. haha.. I was planning to get a Lexus IS300 for my graduation gift, however, I plan just to keep this car and do modifications to it, for example: Cobra R Chrome 17x9s, Maybe Euro Style lights, White Hyperlite, Ichiban White Ground Effect Kit, and maybe some Xenon Body Kit and Flowmaster 2 1/2 Cats stainless steel tips. Oh yeah, also, I plan to put in 2 7" LCD Screens into my Visors and a playstation 2.. but don't know about the playstation yet.. My cd player can play DVD's.. I just need a screen to play it on.. just what I plan to do with the looks.. I might do an engine swap (more HP) probably a 302 V-8. Would be a nice roar! and maybe even Nos... 25-75lbs.. anything over that would blow up my car.. but I doubt that I would get Nos.. since I won't be racing at Moroso anytime soon.. haha.. :D
My car is currently a very old, very ugly VW cabriolet (convertable!). I call it the duck. I love it. It was fished out of a lake and ended up in our drive way. Go figure. It burns oil as fast as gas and doesn't like reverse. But its mine, all mine!
But, when I need something with a bit more pick up, I turn to the '91 convertable Miata. It has the power to weight ratio of the space shuttle and corners like a cat. Lots of fun on back roads, I highly suggest you drive one if at all possible.
When I need even more power, or to pick up a date, I beg and plead for the keys to the '01 Audi TT. No, it doesn't happen often, but it's more then worth the loss of dignity. 220 HP, convertable, 6 speed tranny and steady as a rock. Not to mention being one of the sexiest looking cars money can buy.
In case you couldn't tell, my family has a thing for fast convertables.

Hey Elgin,
I drive a 1993 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme S/L its got a 3.1 V6 with a K&N air cone, duel flow master exaust, 18" rims, ground effects, blue ground lighting, fog lights,
I am planning on adding:
a low profile spoiler, black lights inside carbon fiber trim, stobe lights in the lowbeams, night rider led lights under the front bumper, two 10" infinity subs, and a 6 speaker infinity system, with a 400 watt infinity amp, and a huge cap... anything else?
It gets me to work and back and I get a five year warranty(I bought it used) with 10 free oil changes(8 to go). It serves my needs(I neded something with long trunk space so I could transport large canvases that I tend to like to work on(My current commision is 3x5 feet). BTW whats wrong with an Escape? Very fine vehicle and I'd die if I had one!:D

I drive a Silver '97 Chrysler Sebring LX Coupe.
It's all stock and everything, since I'm not much of a car geek. . . except for the stereo :) I've got an in-dash CD/MP3 player and 8 disc changer in the trunk.
As is, it'll *still* blow the doors off most of the awful Hondas around here. It can *almost* keep up with an RSX :) I get scared at about 85. :p
If I knew how the internal combustion engine worked, I'd make it go faster. . .

Don't get Infinity Subs! They suck! They aren't worth your money and you will be buying new onces in the shortest amount of time.. Go with Sony (MTX), JL Audio, AudioBahn, and Rockford Fosgate. I recommend those and all my friends have one of them. The 10's sounds alright but won't get the really low bass but if you get 12's AudioBahn or JL will sound the best.. if you tune them right.. And that's just my $.02. :D

i dont have my own car yet, but when available i drive our giant chevy conversion van:-) go ahead laugh.... most of those conversion vans you see are probably just paching the regular vortec 360 that comes stock in those. not mine however. it is a 1999 Chevrolet Express Conversion Van that has been customized by a company called Custom Craft. My van however has the Megatow package which includes the 7.4 liter 454ci vortec. still laughing? even better, the interior is loaded with a fold down lcd tv, vcr, wood finish, fold down couch which runs on none other than seat motors. you may still be laughing, but it is hard for most people to respect the "turd" (it is a dark brown color) until they have seen the inside and experienced its raw chevy power. in fact, it has been known to eat small sunfires, concordes, and even the dodge ram sport with the 318 v8, 3 times in a row:-)
this van is our cruiser:-)

My dreamcar the ultimate road trip super SUV. 270hp and enough cargo space to "take" a horse. all the seats fold to the walla, or fold down to make for a full-size bed!;) It even has a rubber composite floor thorought the car to make for easy hose down clean-up, it also has a roof hatch which folds out so that you can change in the the cargo area without having to break your back!
If you havn't guessed it yet, it is the HONDA ELEMENT, feature in the latest issue of pop-sci. realease date December 02.

Actually, I was looking at the ST-4 from Ducati, and they don't perform as well as the BMW K 1200RS. Read the specs on both bikes. BMW 1200cc 130 Horsepower. The top speed is around 180 MPH. I'd love to see your Ducati try and keep up with me on the Autobahn.

Hmm.. i was lookin @ the BMW site and it says the GROSS WEIGHT on that thing is 500kg, that comes out to 1100lbs.. and its 130 hp.. so if the Ducati is 500lbs and has 117hp.. lets do some math... 200lb person on BMW... 1300lbs.. so for every 1 hp its got to move 10lbs... then its 500lbs plus 200lb person.. 700lbs and 117 hp.. each 1 hp only has to move 5.9.. we'll say 6 lbs.. simple ratios prove that the ducati is overall more powerful.. given.. i got the BMW weight from squinting at their poor excuse for a brochure displayed in Acrobat.. but i think i'd take my Ducati... :D PLUS.. its like 8 grand cheaper...

Hence the topic "What kind of car do you drive??"...
alright how come nobody drives any muscle cars or classics. (btw the only thing close to a muscle car in the true meaning of muscle cars are the corvette, camaro, and viper.) i read a little bit about a 66 mustang but thats about it.
now i love american cars, especially the muscle that came out in the 50's, 60's, and 70's. These cars, at the hieght of their popularity throughout the 70's, came with around 400 hp stock. now with a few options on the engine you could be getting a 500+ hp car from the showroom floor. These cars were actually not that expensive when inflation is figured out. These kind of cars are not made anymore sadly enough, but true carguys will always restore them.
right now im in the middle of getting my lisence, and i practice driving in a 92 olds cutlass supreme. but my dad, who grew up in the 60's and 70's always loved classics and muscle cars. hes owned alot of muscle cars (when i say alot i mean 19). he would restore them and sell them to guys who didn't know how to restore cars. the money he made would go to the next car restoration.
the last classic he owned was a yellow 1932 ford coupe (like in american graffiti) way back in 1990. he sold it and if i wasn't 5 at the time i would have stopped him.
So now to the question of what will i be driving?
i will be driving a 1955 chevy bel air. It is a former drag car from california. the attachment is what it looks like now. as you can see no rust, no major body damage at all.
this is what i hope it ends up looking like:
http://community-2.webtv.net/JOE409/55sFOREVER/scrapbookFiles/mailedD4.jpg
planning on dropping (if we can afford it) a 454 big block in it. if not we got a 350 small block waitin. id like to keep the paint how it is and the interior. everyone would think the car would suck just because the paint does. but it would really be just one kick butt drag car. so i could pull up next to a toyota or honda or any other import and just leave it at the light. (i dont like imports at all, chevy all the way)

In Ontario it's the first stage of a drivers liscence. You can drive the car on any non-freeway road, and you must have a liscenced driver with at least 4 years experience in the front passanger seat at all times.
A G2 is the next step...After you pass your 'G1 Exit Test' you get your G2. With a G2 you can drive on any road, any time, with anyone. It is basically a full drivers liscene (except your blood alcohol level must be 0...rather than 0.08%).
A G is a full liscence.
My dad hit his midlife crisis and went out and bought one of these (http://www.svt-enthusiast.com/albums/album16/smokey_035.mpg).
Its real fun to drive... hehe.. I love our new baby..

We have all sorts of Civics here.. They all suck.. all the guys "try" to make them different but they all end up looking the same. Body Kit, Intake, Exhaust (who let the bee in the can again?), and system.. the only thing that makes them different is the color of their car.. some of them.. I hate them and I spank all of them off the line and in 1/4 mile.. haha! Anyways.. if you have a civic.. I'm sorry.. :-\

Yes, you have just read what you thought you had read. I'm the proud owner of a 92' Chevy cav.........aka the COW MOBILE.
My car has cow seats, cow steering wheel cover, white and black dice, cow air fresheners, cow dream catcher with cow bells on the ends, stuffed cows in the back seat, but most of all the huge cow that is hugging my back break light. That is the funniest thing to have people stop behind you and see the look in their eyes when they are met by my cow!! Don't forget though with the cows you've gotta have your country music blared..... * Lone Star *
o wow.. that.. definitely deserves only one word... "hick"... *grin*.. naw.. just messin.. but that is pretty weird. What made ya "cow-ize" your car?

Yeah you could say I am a hick, but if anyone has ever seen my team party they know we like to party. I go to a city school where you could say it's pretty ghetto. I'm the only person that I know that listenes to country in my school. I am a vegitairan and I love cows, so I got that car and decided to walk on the danergerous side of the road. I get some pretty crazy stares, but it's all fun and games!! :o)

I used to have an 81 Dodge Ram 350 V-8, it was a beast but it got totaled and I ended up with the pos accord. It's an 86 with a decent stereo in it but it's not a ricer (I'd never show my face again if it was). It's an ok car even though it's only a 4 cylinder and I live in the mountains (their isn't a lane slow enough for me when I'm going up hill). I really miss the power of my Dodger! I have been privy to ride in a 2nd generation RX-7 lately... and my little cousin has a 1st generation that she hates... it could become mine if I play my cards right and get rid of the accord! The other car that is in dispute between my mother and I is MY 77 Cadi Sedan Deville. I love that car! All leather interior, stock radio that still works (for those of you who care it is an 8-trak player and I do own 8-traks) We call it the bannana boat because it's yellow. Incase you haven't noticed I'm a fan of bigger vehicles, speed isn't everything if your car crumples into a little ball. It's fun to rev the engine in big vehicles and watch the little ricer drivers squirm. I will say my dream car is a Jeep Scrambler (C-J 8) or a Hemi Baracuda, I am more of a fan of the 383's. Any questions?

I am currently driving a 2002 Blue ZX2 with the premium sound package. It pumps 130 HP which is definately not bad for it's size and gas mileage (28 mpg). It has a Zetech engine to which ford did not do justice. These things are capable of 185 HP when just barely over emmissions. Ford is currently redesigning a little and you will see a 200 HP stock available in the SVT Focus in '03 I believe. Before my ZX2, I was driving an '01 Explorer with a 4x4 automatic. So far I enjoy my driving experiences. After college I plan on living in a crappy apartment and spending all my time in one of the '03 SVT Mustang Cobras that should be going into production soon. And to anyone that thinks ford doesn't make good cars, remember that the Ford GT-40 was the first american car to win the Le Mans. Too bad that Ferarri decided not to sell out to Ford, that would be a nice subsidiary. Also if you check out the SVT portion of Ford's site you will see a '94 svt mustang with a 429 Boss engine in it. The 429 is 10.0 Liter V-8 that can put out 855 HP bringing this car from 0-100 in 5.5 secs and finishing a 1/4 in 10.55 secs @ 135 MPH

I have 3 vehicles. The newest is a 2002 Black Neon R/T. That's my daily driver. It's fun to drive. I also have a '89 Chevy 3/4 ton truck that I put a mildly built 350 in to haul my race car. I also put '88 Trans Am GTA Bucket seats in the truck, and a Pioneer sound system in. Got to be comfortable when crusin' down the highway!
My most prized possesion(besides this year's robot!!) is my '78 Z28 Camaro. She is no longer stock. I built a .070 over 454 for it. Put a Turbo 400 trans with a brake and 5500 stall converter. I also installed a Ladder bar coil over suspension attached to a Ford 9 in axle. The axle is braced and has Mark Williams axles. Last summer, the best E.T. and MPIH in the 1/4 mile was 10.40 @ 128 MPH on the motor. This year, upgrading the fuel system, and adding a Holley 1050 Dominator Carb. With new slicks she'll run 10.00 with some more tuning. Needless to say, I'm a serious horsepower junkie!! Love fast cars, snowmobiles, and of course robots!!

Get the 4.0 I-6 (no 4 bangers) it will have the power/speed you will crave, but it has a limiter at 115 mph... 4x4 when ever you need it. Hey, Jeeps are a beatiful thing!

Well I'm in Panama City, FL and the night that I arrive to my aunt and uncle's house, I went out and hit a racoon... Just say that the Racoon didn't make it and neither did my car. I ran over the racoon as it and into my car ( I tried to avoid him/her), it took out my radiator and front bumper.. I only have 3 inches of ground clearance. So it basically did ~$1000 worth of damage and it's been in the shop for 2 weeks now and I'm having a terrible time.. Blah!!! Stupid Racoon!!! oh well.. oh yes, FORDs suck you are right, that is why my Bronco from 1989 is still running perfectly, my fathers FORD Van from 1992 still lookin brand spanckin new, even after he was rearended. i will be honest, my dads pick up truck didn't do so well, the chassis snapped in half, where the cab meets the bed.... although it was made somtime in the 70's and it just sat and collected rust for a few years before it finally snapped

I drive a 1991 Plymouth Voyager (go minivan!) which is alright, but its nearing its end so I am getting a 91 Volvo 240 which should be good for a looooong time cuz the previous owner took fanatically good care of it and, well, its a Volvo! I have a friend with a volvo station wagon, like a 89 or something, and it has 330k miles on it, and runs perfectly.

My stepdad worked for the big three including a Chrysler/ Jeep dealership as a service manager.
He wouldn't take a Jeep if it was given to him.
Lots of electrical problems and Jeep is known for poor quality.
Plus since he works for Ford I can get an Escape at a good discount (or a Mazda).

Grand Cherokees mostly.
Electrical systems were just crap.
They were always in the shop.
Don't be too surprised.
Jaguars have a reputation of being disaterous as well and the lowest rated car in customer stisfaction now are Humvees.
Just because it comes with a big price tag doesn't always equate to a quality product.
Truth be told of all the places he worked the cars that impressed him the most were Subaru's.
You had to deny the things matinace and oil to kill them. They didn't break themselves.
I will make sure and ask my stepdad alot of question before I buy the hybrid Escape (never buy a car in it's 1st year of production he said. Lot's of bugs to work out. So that's one strike against it).

I don't have a problem with people posting why their car is good, but I have a problem with people posting just to say GM is bad, or Jeeps are bad, or anything like that. There's no need to just have random, senseless argument. Go ahead and post why your car is awesome, but don't use this as just a place to slam your least favorite auto maker. It'll get really old, really fast.

Actually, I live in an area where the winters can get pretty icy, use the 4 wheel drive a lot during that time. And I also have to go into my grandfathers pastures several times, where the 4x4 comes in handy. As for pulling the Jeep out of the mud..we seem to be more than capable of doing that ourselves, especially when most Jeeps in my area have atleast 33 inch or 38 inch tires on 'em...

My parents bought it when I was born and we've had it ever since. I get all kinds of people asking me how I fit in it because I'm 6'4". I'm almost done detailing my 99 Ford Ranger 4x4. I armor all-ed all the outside plastic pieces, degreased the entire engine compartament and washed it out, aromor all-ed all rubber and plastic under the hood, washed and waxed the whole thing, polished the tires, polished the chrome, cleaned the aluminum wheels, and armor all-ed the inner fender linings.
I think I'm forgetting something I did but I don't know what. I was going to clean the whole underneath but I'm too tired after all the above.
I still have to clean the spare tire and check all the tire pressures, clean the windows, re-attatch part of my American flag sticker that is peeling, vacumn the interior, and wash the floor mats.
The whole process will have taken about 6 or 7 hours when done.
I plan on getting a Dynomax cat-back exhaust system sometime soon. I will also be adding a high flow cone filter intake if I can find where to mount a supporting bracket.
Well, today I decided to sell my car. Heres the for sale site www.xpalendocious.com . The only reason Im selling it is to get another car, as my parents wont let me own 2.

i feel your pain. I own a 1991 Mercury Sable (taurus with some chrome on it and extra running lights) and I love it. A great car. I put a CD-player in it and now it is an awesome car. You can fit a boatload of people in it. I've driven with two up front (besides me) and four in the back, and nobody whined (I also was passenger for the same amount of people in the same arrangement in a Saturn sedan, none of us could move after that.)
It still performs decently, and can go fast enough, although I don't know how fast cause the speedometer stops at 85 and faster than that you can't tell.
And I think it is a great-looking car. but thats just me.
If your cutlass really has one third of the mileage on my car, it should run great and last forever. Just don't crash it.

[resurrect old post :)]
They are OK cars - but when something starts to go wrong w/ them - get rid of it right away. ALL my expierence w/ front wheel drive vehicles (yes - ALL of them, imports and domestics) is that when one thing starts to fail - there will be a whole nother thing wrong w/ it when you fix that one thing.
Personally I recommend getting a rear wheel drive vehicle. They are much better to work on and if something does happen - it doesn't cost as much to fix as would a compartivite rear wheel drive vehicle. :)
Might I recommend a 91+ Cherokee w/ the 4.0 I-6 as your first vehicle? :D

If I had to choose between a front wheel drive car and a rear wheel, I would take a front wheel drive car. I've never had any trouble with them and they have more stability than rear wheel drive cars. Since force is being applied in front of the CG of the car, then the engine is basically "pulling" the car down the road, much like pulling a trailer behind a truck. With rear wheel drive, the engine is "pushing" the car, which increases side-to-side instability, like trying to back up with a trailer behind you. I have had no problem with my Eclipse (front wheel drive). It's nice in the snow, too.

I agree with you - but the one draw back of having everything up in the front - is space! Tollerances are sssoooo tight up there - it's not even funny.
So - agian this is my own thoughts - if you like fwd vehicles - more power to you - but from a mechanics stand point - it will cost you more money to repair and once something starts to go - get rid of it! :)
MG...MG..Hrmmm...
Morris Garage!! :D - I have a friend that is totaly into thoes types of cars. I give them props - but they don't quite "float my boat."

Anybody looking for a first vehicle let me recommend a Ford Ranger. I absolutely love mine. If it's ex cab 4x4 auto, be sure to get one with the 4.0. Otherwise, the 3.0 would be fine.

As for MG, I used to know what it stood for! Now I forget!
edit:
It is not a kit car. I did replace the original 1800cc engine with a 74 Volvo engine for durability. I kept the original engine should I ever decide to sell the car. One of the reasons for moving to Arizona was because the heater isn't worth a darn.
MG stands for Morris Garage.

I used to drive The BATMOBILE (1991 Black Mazda Protegè)
Until we sold it and good thing too, cause it caught on fire.
Now I drive a 1995 Mazda 626, which is like my old car, except for the cool air intake, and the working seatbelts and the airbags.

Yeah, right up there along the lines of the Fiesta! What a joke those two are!!
If they raced each other, a bird would beat both of them, cause they wouldn't be able to move!! And along with the non-roominess of each of them, they aren't worth squat in my opinion!!

Has anyone seen the commrecial for some new little chevrolet car where they say it's only little on the outside and have these four giant guys get into it. If it's like a mini, then it is larger inside that you would expect, but compared to a sedan, no way.
