so what you guys/girls think? I think me and my electronics team did a much better job then last year, but what do you think? any suggestions?
*see the quarter-final picture as well, i think it looked better then it is now, because after we moved the breaker panel we had to rush to get it done for the programers

Nice, really clean. I rember our rat nest last year. lol it was funny looking, once I thought I saw Elvis in our rat nest.

It's a very competent lay out. I can't see anything in this picture that would violate a rule or good practice.

The only two things I can think of to improve the situation are:

1: Custom length PWM wires. The added cost of the crimper and supplies can be hard to justify sometimes but the clean look, simplified (easier to understand) layout and even lower weight can make it worth the $50 or so it takes to get started. It's not for everyone, but given how that board looks, it's one of the only things you could do to improve. Thats a pretty good place to be.

2: Affixing the PWM wires to the board. It's a pain to do at first, but with the correct length wires it's not so bad. The benefit is that you avoid the 'rats nest' look that those wires tend to take on, and avoid them getting nipped by cooling fans (not really harmful but an annoying noise). It might also help keep the PWM's seated in the victor, although it seems that since the introduction of the 884s and that bugger shroud it's not such an issue. There is no harm in running the PWM wires right along side the 12 volt wires.

Labeling PWM's, which it seems you've done, is a great idea. Laying them on the board is the next step.

If thats all I can come up with, you are in great shape.

that may be a sign that you spent TOO much time at robotics that week ;)

Thanks for the feedback :D, for more pics.. http://www.instigators1596.com/gallery/
