Wow! That is so compact, and it has a turret! What sort of drivetrain does it have? And where does the flag go?

Ahh, one of the fabled "sideways" robots.

That looks like an amazingly space-efficient design. You have a harvesting system, a storage system, and a shooting system all tucked away into that bot, and a turret on top to boot!

Nice work.

Your not going to tell us about the drivetrain, are you. :( We will just have to find out for ourselves at a comp won't we. :( Also will you have a guard for your camera?

We know what kind of drive it is... ;)
But I don't think Wildstang would like us to tell you. :D

That is one intense little robot. I can't wait to see it in action, I'm sure it will function just as well as it looks too. As for the drive train even after taking the image down putting it through a lanczos filter blowing it up to 700% of its original size I still couldn't make out enough. It looks narrow, but the drive train has to be at least about 2-1/2" - 3" wide judging by the bumpers next to it. The wheel looks narrow so judging just by the front they could have tracks but probably not. In the back however they definitely have room for a swerve drive system. Which means they might have omnis in the front and stang swerve in the back.

Another amazing looking robot.
Good job!

What sort of drivetrain does it have?Something similar to a previous year.

And where does the flag go?yet to be decided, but the leading candidate was in the back corner.

Also will you have a guard for your camera? There will be an additional piece of lexan between the camera and the wheel.

See you all in a few weeks!

what was your drive train from last year?

Billfred

2005, IIRC, was swerve. 2003 and 2004 were swerve for sure.

Wasn't it 2002 that they had the swerve with drop-down tank track? Seems like with all the high-powered motors in the kit this year, you could pull it off.

On a completely unrelated note, how did y'all get matching balls?

Wait a second guys, can we expect anything less than awesome from 'Stang? This though... I really like this. It's definitely tied with all my favorite 111 bots already, all of them that is. :D

Surprisingly, 111's 2005 robot was not a swerve 'bot. Last year, Wildstang used the same "wider is better" philosophy and had a 4wd w/omni's setup. So, based on the apparently narrow frame spacing, I would guess that they're using a similar drive this year, albeit a 6wd setup (based on the very low ground clearance.)

I really like the dual ball track feeding into a central elevator in the center. This is a system similar to 191's, whose video shows a very capable system. Sadly, I don't see a way to easily human load the robot. Is this, finally, a Wildstang 'bot that CAN'T do everything?! :)

To be honest the first thing i thought of was how did you get so many of 1 color combo poof ball?

Looks really solid. Good job 111!

Obviously, they didn't need that extra week
I'm guessing this thing does it all, even serves refreshments.

wow. Love the wide design! (Why didn't we think of that...*hunts down DT kids*)
It looks like you've got a pretty incredible hopper capacity, especially for such a solid bot. (no CG problems here!)

Good job, can't wait to see you guys at Nats...or sooner (regionals? we're at new jersey and palmetto)

Lol that about says it all. Lots of things love about the robot first of all the compact design and ability to do everything. Low center of gravity, turret and I don't even wanna know about the drive I knows it amazing because it's Wildstang. Good luck this year 111 nice job see you at nats.

Once again great robot,
Drew

p.s best design I have seen yet

Ok first off, AWESOME BOT........so efficient use of space. I'd expect people from NASA to have a hard time doing this. BRILLIANT. Well after saying that, I think I got it figured out. Ok it seems that you kept to the keep it simple stupid. Well anyways I think you have a (two small cim) 4 wheel drive (two traction (front), two omni (back)) also im betting you have a huge tank tread (powered by a minibike cim, lowered with pneumatics) to plant when shooting, to get up the ramp, and to push robots around with some good push power (directly in middle under electronics). For your ball collector (2 fisher price w/ gearbox), I think you can only pick up two balls at a time, that picture is a little misleading, after they are picked up, they are on a rack that moves them with gravity to the back of the bot where they all meet up. From there, they have an agitator or something to keep the balls from getting jamed. Then, they use a two timing belt w/ pulleys to feed the balls up to the shooter (I'm guessing they used a globe). The shooter is a single wheel with the ifi traction tread. They used a small cim. The turret is turned using the vandor.
Also, I'm amazed that from what I think, they are using almost every motor, I'm guessing there batteries would last a minute with them moving around in a match, but i guess if you do it right, you can pull a good 2 minutes out of it if you very efficient, but I wouldnt put it past them, Look at how little space they used!!

That seems to be everything. I know someone that was on Wildstang a few years ago and she let me in on some past secrets of WildStang. I have no clue if any of its right. Wildstang, I'm sorry if i exposed your robot, but this is just a guess. Good Luck To All

Judgeing from the bot being on the ramp and everything im taking that the shooter isn't at 5'. Now with this I would have to say 'stang is using swerve, even though they do have a nice turret on the top.

Great looking bot!
