Alright, I know I'm in the minority here, but I use Pro/ENGINEER. (The engineering school here at USC uses it and teaches with it, and I'm in no position to load Inventor.)

Today I tried to load up the STEP version of the Kitbot drawings, and the part was nice and visible. Only problem was that while the holes were visible to the eye, they weren't visible to the part file--Pro/E treated the part (the rail, in my case) like it dropped from the sky that way.

Is there a way to get the holes to show up as holes? Is this some case of "It's not a bug, it's a feature!" that I'll have to live with? Can someone design a drivetrain without them?

I just started to use pro-e as well.... i figured out the best way to import a file is an in .igs file saved under the nerbs feature when you go to save it in inventor. At first i hated pro-e but now i am coming to terms with it.
