that's quite a...something!
I really love the plates! How did you cut those? (It looks almost too good to be a CNC.)

My... what big wheels you have!

One of the best looking 1pt players out there. (By best looking, I mean both artistically and mechanically.) Kudos!

Great job guys. It looks like Morristown has created another stout defensive bot. Good luck at Boilermaker!

Haha, don't worry...we've got matching yellow bumpers. Personally, I think it's a sexy robot (or as sexy as a robot can get...heh.) Thanks for the compliments! Good luck at other regionals if you have any before the Boilermaker! -The Chrispy One :)

Dang! That's what I said when I first saw this bot. That thing is a beast.

393 & Defense = A great combination. Can't wait to see you guys in action at Boilermaker!

Great robot, as Ryan said when I saw it I said wow. This is the cleanest and most stream line robot I have seen from this team. I still don't know how you made weight with those wheels but kudos for doing so. Great Job.

Morristown HS teamed up with Greenfield-Central HS this year, which was a great merger! The facilities there were great, we picked up some more people/mentors, and have gotten the best kids from GC possible! This robot represents all of the good that came out of the 2006 season!

This robot will be good at defense AND offense! We can scoop balls up very quickly and spit them out as well in a fast manner. It is very sturdy! As for the cutting on the fenders, we cut those out by hand! No CNC! We had to cut weight as the fenders were 10 lbs each before cutting. We are now 1/2 pound under weight!!

Thanks for all the compliments and good luck to everyone this season!

Well...for those of you wondering how we made weight...our secret shall be revealed now; we let the air out of the tires. One of our team members made that comment when we were over weight the first time, it was pretty funny.

I, personally, do not have any idea how we made weight. If you look close at our bot's frame...it's very swiss cheese-ish. Names for the bot ended up being discussed numerous times; I think Holy Mackerel won.

Getting down to weight involved a lot of drilling and that is all I know. I stay away from the engineering part as much as possible! (Though I do <3 Allen Wrenches)

Thank you! I really appreciate it! Believe it or not, we drew those out and cut them with a jigsaw :ahh: (the holes with a holesaw). Lots of WD-40 and swearing (they had already been given a coat of primer, and it was getting mangled by the footplate of the saw, but it got touched up.) Hated having to cut up those nice pretty fenders, but I think it came out looking better than when we started.

POLISH703- we are using two of the small CIMs per side in a two speed gearbox. Low gear gives us, eh, I reckon around 5-6 fps, but we never really timed it. (I think that our low gears are a little too low, but we do have A LOT of torque going to the floor. :D ) High gear was timed with the bot up on blocks at about 14 fps, so add 120 lbs. and the drag of the big wheels and I reckon we get at least 12 in high gear.

Thanks for all the feedback, y'all! :)

With the help of one of our engineers, I drew them, and I hated it. I was glad that after I left they decided to modify a bit on what to cut out of it.

I'll agree with the swearing. Swearing, twitching, and cringing. That was a sad, sad day.

And Jerry, you almost killed Chrispy with your high-pitched jigsaw cutting... I think she's back to normal now. Well, normal for Chrispy that is. :)

Thank you all for the compliments... it's nice to hear what you all think of the bot. Also great to know that we're not the only ones who fell in love with it. :p

no chrispy, the bots name ended up being tank...but the other one would've worked too.....

How did it end up being tank? Can someone explain this?

P.S. Site still says "Jaws!"

idk, at the banquet libby said tank, jerry says jaws, chrispy says holy mac....so idk...i think we should figure that out b4 iri.....

peace out playa

That might be a good idea. Having an un-named bot, or a bot with multiple names, at IRI would kind of suck.
Indeed.
