I was just curious what everyone's favorite sci-fi show is out here. Being an incurable Stargate geek myself,(yes, that's along with Lord of the Rings :D ) I was wondering how many other people were like me. Happy voting!

Stargate SG1. This probably should be moved to chit-chat forum

Battlestar Galacitca is my favorite, although I have recently been enjoying "Surface" that is on NBC. I also follow both of the Stargate series.

I'm sorry, I didn't see the chit-chat forum. Is it possible to move a thread?

I enjoy the two Stargate series quite a bit. SG-1 is surviving the recast and Ben Browder has proven a good Richard Dean Anderson replacement. Claudia Black is a character all to her self. I was very happy with that casting, as Farscape was a fantastic show, and to see two of the stars still on SciFi is welcome. Atlantis is pretty good, and sticks to the SG-1 formula. Maybe being formulaic is typically a bad thing, but then, its a pretty good formula. It's good lighthearted sci/fi meat and potatoes.

Battlestar Galactica is, with out any doubt in my mind, the best drama on TV. This show absolutely blew me away when the miniseries first debuted. Near the end of the 2nd season and the story is still full of twists and drama and still believable. The show does a fantastic job of not getting bogged down in technical issues and sticks to it's proven ability to use the fantastic setting to explore very real life issues like prisoner abuse, abortion, loyalty and betrayal, the role of the military and government. The list goes on and on, but I love that it is made up of current and important issues with out beating me over the head with the fact (like the West Wing or Law and order- Kindergarten squad does).

If we include shows that are not on currently... I would vote for Babylon 5

I voted for Star Trek, but I would also vote for Babylon 5. Great show.

Another show, not on TV anymore, is Alien Nation. This was also a pretty good show. I could deal with all kinds of minorities prejudices and not offend anyone.

I enjoy watching both Stargates although I liked SG-1 better with Richard Dean Anderson (AKA: "Macgyver" to me) Now however they are about equal. (I hope "Macgyver" comes back (Plus if they do they can make more references to Macgyver ) although I do not think he will come back permanently at this point but I can hope right?) At This point I have grown accustom to seeing the new faces though.
