Looks pretty sweet. Kinda glad your one of my FF picks.
So is the angle the ball comes out adjustable or are you a one spot shot?
Also what do you use to keep the balls from jamming up?

Looks great, hoping to get to see a video of this in action.

You can check out video at our website (http://www.swindsor.k12.ct.us/Highschool/bobcats/media_video.shtml).

The angle of the launcher is not adjustable, but the speed of the launch wheel is variable. We don't have the best resolution, but we determined it would be too difficult to adjust the launcher angle on the fly.

To keep the balls from jamming up we simply drop our harvester out and pull it back in (it's on linear bearings). The friction from the balls and the rolling of the harvester pops all the balls in the hopper up like a popcorn machine and dejams it. The hopper really shouldn't jam much, since it's designed for the balls to fall cleanly into the shooter or roll back out the front.

Until you posted that picture I had no idea how difficult it was to tell what our robot looks like unless you see it in person.

Anyone want to guess the over/under on how many times people tried to reach through the lexan the day this pick was taken?

One hundred and seventy seven times? :p

From the picture it's weird.. but it looks like you are way over the max size. Is this a starting configuration? I don't know.. maybe it's the lexan giving me weird views about what's the side, and what's not.. :ahh:

Anyways, good luck in Hartford. See you there on Saturday!

This is out starting configuration, it's just the lexan playing tricks on your eyes.

EDIT: Schneidie is right, although I think that Elgin is referring to the far side of the bot.

The rollers are inside the starting envelpoe when the pneumatics are pressurized. In this pic, they are extended slightly.

Actually, whe I saw the frame fully assembled, I was amazed that it fit inside the envelope as well.

I like the small wheels. Very smart.
