Does anyone have the following kickoff events that i could download?
2003 Kickoff
2004 Kickoff
Also i got the two CNN news videos on the FIRST Resource Center, but i am looking for a video of a team with tie die shirts (wildstang maybe)? i would really like to find that, and any other videos related with FIRST on National or local News.
Also anyone know where to get a high quality version of the "FIRST Promo Video"?
I am trying to compile i good DVD, so any help is greatly appreciated...

I found the 2003 and 2004 kickoff streaming files on the NASA Robotics website, but how would i save from the stream to say AVI or MPEG?
I found such programs as WM Recorder and RM Recorder, but there should be a easier way to do this or a free way.

I have the WildStang video from CNN. We were on it in April of 2003. The only problem is I am having some problems getting it uploaded to the web. I will continue to try for the next day or so but if I cannot I could either snail mail it to you (100% you will get it) or e-mail it (50% chance it will work).

If you could snail mail it that would be great i will PM you with my snail mail address and email address.
Just to let everyone know i will set up a spot on my Team Server with all of these videos and keep them up, that way people can always get them.

*Currently uploading 630mb :yikes: :ahh: :D will update post when done*
If you want i could send it to you on a cd through snail mail if you don't want to spend forever downloading it.

That way, the video will be permanently available and you will not have to worry about bandwidth concerns if the file size is huge. Plus, you can download videos from Google Video as well, so people can still view them offline.
BTW, The .gvi file extension on downloaded Google Video files can be renamed to .avi or .divx and opened in DivX player with no problems.

I would rather have one link that everyone can follow to find any promo videos related with FIRST. With google video, i think you would either have to give a link to each video or a link to google video and then have them search for the videos.
But i will still look into it later tonight when i get home.

Ok, here is the permanent (with exceptions) File Repository to help out the FIRST community, mainly just for videos. I will be uploading more files to it tonight. If you have any videos that you would like me to throw in here PM me and i can arrange for you to upload it or send it to me.
I am working on getting a mirror setup with the help of Mike. I think we are both just going to mirror our FIRST stuff and keep both these locations up, not sure yet.
http://videos.teamthrust.us/
Any questions or comments you can post here or PM me. Thanks for the help guys and i hope to see more promotional videos for FIRST.
After having a meeting with the new student thats going to be doing some web stuff, and a website mentor and the person who gives our team the server space we have we have set a limit on the File Repository as far as bandwidth goes. We have decided that if at any time the bandwidth is exceeded we are going to either pull the repository offline for the remainder of that month or forever (undecided yet). So download only if needed please and please use the file mirror also if we get that set up
EDIT>>>
I put the CBS Dean Kamen video in the 2001 folder, does anyone know if that is the correct year?
<<<EDIT
The mirror which roboticsguy1988 is referring to from me, is located here MIRROR (http://first.mike-site.us) Once files get uploaded they will be here for all to download. I am hoping to put ALL FIRST video online in one place as best I can. So if you have video please please PM me so that I can set you up to upload to the video archive.
I will create another URL sometime that makes more sense and easier to remember then update here.

I only have the 16mb version of the 2003 Championship Video. I don't know if that's low quality or high quality (though I'm assuming low). Let me know if you'd like it!

You could email FIRST and ask them to send you a copy of the DVD or i can make you a copy and send it :)
I actually have alot of the FIRST promo videos since 1992. I just digitized a whole bunch of them onto DVD but I'm placing the whole Finger Lakes Regional on my home server right now but my bandwidth is unfortunately not the fastest.
It will be on Http://team191.servehttp.com but I may have to limit access based on bandwidth consumption.
Currently it's just the FLR matches in process right now since I needed to reduce them down from 400MB down to about 20 MB each file.

thanks for the link. I am in process of crawling your site so sorry if its gets a little crowded.
Would you be able to put up the files for the past promo dvds? or possibly in a location so that I could download them or could you possibly upload them to my server? I can give you access.
-Mike
I'll see what I can do - It may be a while since I have to help finish our Publication submission first and wait till all the FLR files are converted before I get the DVD back to .wmv file format. MikeAA I'll let you know when I get to it or you can just keep checking back on my cheesy site every once in a while.

I already approached FIRST and NASA TV for the missing web-cast events.
However, there is that disclaimer, that not all events may be posted.
If someone else figured out how to record a life web-cast and has that much space on his website to upload, than many teams could benefit from it.
By reviewing at least the final matches, we could all study our "dream team", we would like to partner with at the Nationals.
See you in Atlanta!!
We used a trashy modified camera to take some video from the robot.
I uploaded one, I will get the rest on out website soon
Here is the video from the robot
