Hey guys,
Post your inspirational FIRST photos here, you know, the ones you took at any regional.
Here's one of mine:
Inspiring America's Youth.

holding Chairmans Trophy as a Team Captain was a dream. And it came true this year..... For the first time in the history of Chantilly Robotics, our team was able to win the Chairmans Award; a hard work by all the members, well paid.
FIRST Robotics has changed my life dramatically. Two years ago when i stepped on JFK i had no idea which way to go. But now after two years, as a Captain of Team 612, i know my way, "to make this world a better place with my knowledge."

Very nice. Looking back at VCU, I wasn't looking for shots of this nature, yet I realize now that there was a lot more behind the scenes than just raw competition.
Ironically, you've inspired me to take a different stance as to what I'll be looking for at Atlanta: less robots, more humans.
For the time being, this is all I can muster

This is Steven Li.. a founding member of team 772 who is *the* only reason there is still a team today. The picture is taken on his final day of competition as a student with FIRST Robotics, in the Georgia Dome in Atlanta last April. Not even a month before this picture was taken all of the graduating students believed we had ended our careers as students of FIRST on a somewhat uneventful note in Mississauga. I don't think anyone could have asked for a better place to finish it off!
Here's one of me and our lead teacher from the 2006 Arizona Regional. It could fall into the category of "mentor & student celebrating their team's first regional win EVER"
The look on our mentor's face says it all......
I can't find it anymore, but the picture that used to be on the FIRST homepage of the Wildstang drive team right after winning nationals in 2003.

Here are a couple of my favourites...the first is from the Great Lakes Regional in 2002, and the second is from the Canadian Regional (now the Greater Toronto Regional) in 2004.

This also inspired the new strategy of "Stay away from the ramp Steven Forbes!"

I've seen one like that...only it was a Regional Chairman's award...one guy was holding it up with one hand, and people surrounded it with their hands. Probly it was team 48, but I'm not sure.
That's such a cute picture. And for those who don't know, that's Mark Abrams daughter, Mark being one of the judge's at Southern California.

What I love most about robotics is the people. The GP, the teamwork, the inspiration.
Here's a picture I shot at the Arizona Regional. I like this one too. It's somewhat inspirational. I like Lavery's expression.

868 truly amazed me and it's so inspiring to me. (even though it is just the pit), they were able to change their robot during matches, never missing a match, and finding a way to help in any way they could for their alliance.

Team 188's been lucky enough to get onto the official FIRST photo album from the Championship event the last couple of years, but this is my biased favourite, the "huddle" that is now being displayed by many other teams, but I'm sure we werent the first anyways ;) . It's since gone through a few changes but the concept remains the same. It was always somewhere for us to loosen up right before the match with a joke or too =P.
The new drive crew prefers to huddle with their knees on the ground, but I like this effect better =D.
Also the watches are a definite highlight!

Good point. All people registered to go signed model release forms, but I don't think that she would have signed one. Technically, from my understanding, as long as you're on the grounds during a FIRST event, you give consent to be published in any medium.
Still, asking might be a good idea to ask her parents, seeing as they're a little more accessible and we know who they are.

Not only does this show how much we all love Mr. Cokeley,

High quality photos are always better, but these were the best two I could find of this very moment - the drive teams (and then some!) of teams 45, 930, and 269 at the Midwest Regional 2004. It was such a tense moment, waiting for the scores to the 2nd finals match to show up, and everyone that had snuck into the drivers station area linked arms to wait for the scores to appear.

That's me and my brother and sister on the last day before ship last year. They finally got to come see the robot that day, and they were amazed. Seeing the looks on their faces when we were driving it around was awesome to say the least, and I think that's what convinced my sister to go to the summer tech camp run by our school system.

me and my brother (http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/showthread.php?t=45680)
I've seen two of them in regards to Raider Robotix (25).
The first is the one shown on the cover of the book that's going to be released by FIRST. It has 25 battling another robot in a really cool action shot.
http://www.usfirst.org/4vol/resourcectr/photogallery/2003/Robots/Robot_3.jpg
The second is of our old driver Steve at nationals..which I can't seem to find right now, but it's in one of the FIRST Championship Galleries. He's putting his hands on the driver's station glass and Woodie does the same on the other side (field).
This pic is from a RoboRaiders demo at a 4H fair two years ago. Students: Andrew Duch, Eric Chang, and John Czernikowski

I like this one (http://www.chiefdelphi.com/media/photos/20885) taken at Buckeye 2005. The event dates happened to fall on Easter weekend. Team 1308 from St. Ignatius High School would have missed all of its Friday afternoon matches without some quick help mustered by a few other teams.
GP at its finest: when 1308 was not allowed to compete due to school rules (regarding Good Friday observance) after 12 noon today, two competing teams at Buckeye volunteered to stand in as operators and pit crew for their robot.
The picture shows member of 302 and 1511 rebuilding the 1308 robot, just in time to make one of the three scheduled matches they would otherwise have missed this afternoon.

Our students paid tribute to our lead teacher, Chris Byam. Chris has been a teaching mentor for the TechnoKats for 10 years, and has been an outstanding asset to our team. He is a friend to all teammates, while still being the "bad guy" when needed. This picture shows the respect the kids feel for Mr. Byam.

Just something I snapped at GLR this year. I dont know about everyone else but Jim Zondag, and the rest of 33, has always inspired me. Everyone who competes with him knows how fired up he gets. I think this is inspiring because it shows that while there may be a winning and losing aspect to FRC it is at its heart FUN regardless of if you are in #1 or number #81.

I think it is time for a little inspirational photos.
14 rookie teams came to Poly High School in Riverside on Saturday to build kit bots, 8 hours later 14 teams left with running robot drive trains and a boat load of confidence.
