What should robots that shoot balls rapidly on the ramp, like 254, be called I have heard many suggestions but my team does not like it when I say that we our a vomit shooter. So what name do you think we should use to describe it?

idk but i dont think anybody who has spent the last 6 weeks of blood sweat and tears on a robot would appreciate being called a "vomit" shooter. i suggest just call them "robots that shoot balls rapidly on the ramp"

When my daughter was a baby and she threw up, my wife would say "no, she just spit up a little"... (even if it was all over the back of my shirt and running down into my back pockets!)

Its all semantics - but maybe saying your robot is good at spitting up will sound better than calling it explosive projectile vomiting?

"explosive projectile vomiting"

I don't know about it's applicabilityy to robotics, but "Explosive Projectile Vomiting" is one of the best names for a band that I have ever heard. :)

I think the generic engineering term for emptying out a storage/holding mechanism/device where the contents are pushed out or extracted is called a: PURGE

grabbing stuff off the floor, or data off a bus is called: SNARFING

If contents are simply spilled out, at random, its called a: DUMP

When a vomit shooter runs out of balls, is it dry heaving? :p

Seriously though, "vomit" shooters don't have to be on the ramp. 435 proved that quite well in week 1.
