View Full Version : Karaoke at the Championship
Discuss.
We just bought a machine and are looking for excuses to use it.
What would you like from karaoke at the Championship, if anything?

What about the FIRST Anthem?
(flips up the table he's using and uses it for cover)
Perhaps just have it out in the courtyard on Friday as the divisions start wrapping up for the day? (Of course, that might be thwarted if there's another Vex dinner--but I figure they'd have announced something like that by now.)
None of you are likely aware that Karthik's middle name is "Karaoke". And it's well deserved!

It's true, I am a Karaoke all-star.
I'm definitely game, and you can count Derek Bessette in as well. He's always up for a duet with me...

You just need to sing some Bon Jovi and I'll sing with you.

Kyle,
You are a great student team leader.
You are a charismatic person who can bring light into a room.
You are fun.
You are caring.
You are inspirational in your help toward others.
You are proactive and accountable.
But... you are definitely not a singer. Please spare us all. Madison, if you let Kyle near a microphone, the room will clear immeditately. He's even worse than Karthik. Yep, he is that bad.

I'll only sing if Amanda's around, but I know I'd kick Karthik's butt any day....

Karoke!!! I'VE ALWAYS WANTED TO KAROKE! ^____^
*ahem* I lost the cool....but my cool is back!
*is now excited to sing random songs*
I've never been to the Championship while it's been in Atlanta. Where might a good place to set this up be? We'll need to have someone there at all times -- indoors is probably preferred for protection from the elements and we'd like for it to be as little of inconvenience to others as is possible while still being sure that people know it's there. Any suggestions? We'll bring the television and audio equipment. They'll need power.
I've attached a spreadsheet that lists many of the songs we currently have in our library. It will probably grow some before the event and we'll have the updated listing available sometime before then. I'm hoping to grab an 80's starter set that will add another 200 or so songs to this list. If your request isn't here, I'm working on it! ...particularly Right Said Fred's "I'm Too Sexy," for Raul.

I've never been to the Championship while it's been in Atlanta. Where might a good place to set this up be?One Indoor/Outdoor venue might be just outside the dome. When you come down the escalator from Building B, you go straight ahead to the plaza, or turn to the left to enter the dome (Gate C, IIRC). Go further to the left, and you're headed toward the parking garage. It's covered from the elements, but still outside and in clear view of a heavy pedestrian traffic flow. Don't know what you'd do about power, though.
oh! i love karaoke! nice idea by the way =P..

just tell me where it is..and i'm sure i'd find the confidence and lack of dignity to do karaoke lol
would that be the one by Right Said Fred?
Yeah - that's it - I think.
Just a head's up that we'll be bringing the machine down with us for certain. We'll be flying by the seat of our pants, though, because we don't have any idea where it'll be set up and the like. Stop by our pit to find out where it ends up and start drinking that honey tea and warming up those voices! :)

I think im going to have to sign up Tom Bottiglieri to sing Vanessa Carlton's 1000 miles. DONT WORRY EVERYONE, he proved at 6 flags that he can sing it in public, and he doesn't even need the music! :ahh:
