Out to all teams....
Greetings Teams:
As you know, the 2006 FIRST Championship, comprising the FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC), FIRST Lego League (FLL) World Festival and FIRST Vex Challenge (FVC) Pilot, is being held April 27-29 in Atlanta, Georgia at the Georgia Dome and the adjacent Georgia World Congress Center. With approximately 340 FRC teams, 82 FLL teams and 50 FVC teams expected to compete, we are assured an exciting, high energy and fun-filled event.
Volunteers are the key players in making sure the event runs smoothly. FIRST is looking for people who will volunteer in such roles as field re-set, crowd control, team queuing, awards distribution, field set-up and field breakdown. Individuals can volunteer for just one day or more.
Volunteers will be given a Championship t-shirt and badge, and are requested to attend a Volunteer Dinner and Training on April 26. Breakfast and lunch are provided to volunteers who work full days at the event. Volunteers will receive training.
For more information and/or to register to volunteer, please sign up in the Volunteer Information and Matching System (VIMS) via the FIRST website, www.usfirst.org. Click on the For Volunteers tab, then on the Click here to volunteer for FIRST button; proceed as directed.
The Championship is a little over three weeks away, so please sign up in VIMS promptly. Recruit a friend to volunteer, too! On-site walk in volunteers are also always welcome.
Thank you.
Go Teams!
