View Full Version : What are your Team Colors??

I was wondering what everyone's official Team Colors are. Some Teams Colors are recognizable on every part of the team; ie: robot, shirts, banners, and such like CD's Orange and Black or Buzz's Yellow and Black and TJ's Tye Dye!
What are your team colors?
Also do you keep the same colors every year or change them??
We wouldn't want to be accused of "clashing" now would we??? Hmmmm?

Our team colors are Red, White, and Blue (our blue is sometimes navy blue, sometimes royal)
This year you could really tell our team colors from our robot (i think it was our first colorful robot)
:)
Red, with a "dash" of black AND/OR white.

I believe our colors are black and gold though we use lime green and blue for our shirts.
Ours are either black and red, just red, or something else with black and red. Looking at our robot wont help, we use lots of lexan and clear plastic sheeting. Oh yeah, we also have lots of open areas. We change shirts every 1-2 years so we might have our cool black shirt with fire at the top. (Doesnt stand out as much as MOE's, but it looks cool)

Hmm, well it really surprises me that no one else yet is Blue and Gold... it seems to be really popular throughout a lot of schools, but I guess not too many FIRST teams have Blue and Gold.
And yes, you can definitely tell from our shirts, hats, robot, buttons, CDs, etc

ummm yeah, moe is lime green (the color is actually called 'sublime green') and black. its on shirts, robots, shoes, earplugs, sticks, pants, hair, hats, pit work areas, and computers (http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/pictures.php?s=&action=single&picid=1873&direction=DESC&sort=date&perrow=10&trows=10&quiet=verbose). :)

Our colors are blue and yellow. Our colors are definately visible in our shirts and other spirit stuff. Chuck is plastered in our logo, so I guess you would say our robot has our team colors. Moose, has a flag on each front corner, one yellow and one blue. We have had the same colors for the past 4 of the 6 years we've been a team. I would suggest to anyone who is considering changing anything about their team to deeply consider it. Once people begin to know who you are, you are better off leaving everything the way it is. We had an experience with this: In 1999 we were well known for our cheering of "Up CHUCK", and this year, when we brought it back, people said "Hey! We remember you guys, we haven't heard from you in a couple of years."

Our official colors are forest green gold and black. However, our sponsor forces white and Columbia or baby blue on us so that we seem like spokes people.

Black and White. Going along with the FEDS motif, we figured that black and white made us look like agents of some sort. We keep basically the same shirts year-to-year, and thus, the colors. This year, we even extended it to our robot, which looks like a big black box.

Our shirts seem to be a different color every year too. Last year was red, this year was grey and I think once upon a time we had white and cream colored shurts too. Next year the plan is to stick with the grey shirts but... ya never know! Oh, and we keep the same colors year after year too - we've always had red, white and blue as our colors. :D

Blue, red, and yellow -- a combination of our two schools' colors, and they're also (oh-so-conveniently) the Superman colors. :)
Here at WCTS, our colors are blue and silver, but we're acquiring a red flame job to go with those for good. The silver is generally furnished by unpainted aluminum (saves weight and looks good - under 110 pounds 2 years going) and the blue varies from navy to royal to sky, depending on what the graphic arts department wants to use that particular day.

Us robowizards break from the normal school colors Yellow and Green and Use Purple and Silver. We must admit Our school has done better with Purple and Silver as the robotics teams colors. Anyway. We do not plan to change because the fans for some reason go wild when they see Purple. The announcers says "Lookin good in purple from Staten Island NY Its Team 522 he Robo Wizards !!!!" We plan to keep to Purple and Silver. For some reason it looks good on the Team If you don't believe me look at the Pics from the Nationals at our site www.robowizards.com

Well our colors are purple and gold!!! Awesome colors!!! HE HE. Well our bot is not all that colorful, but all the members on our team signed it so that was cool. That is one of our decorations, others include stickers of our sponsers, and other things like that. Our gold shirts this year were designed by a member of our team, and he is the only one who does not like the design, crazy guy. Then we have purple and gold polo shirts. So that is the info on our colors.
Talk to everyone later,

... "Man, It looks like a rainbow threw up on your shirt!" ... That's great! What a colorful description!
Our colors have stayed blue and yellow since the robot with the "Big Yellow Arms" in 2003. Not buying new shirts for everyone since 2004 has saved money and helped establish a team identity. Some people try to call it maize and blue like that big athletic power on the other side of the state (Yes, I know there also is a school there :) ), but we tend to keep to slightly different shades. With two to three schools involved every year, it would be hard to go with school colors.
Dark blue and yellow are the colors of our school and of our team.

Since our rookie year (2001) we've been orange, since the originating school is Orange High and we're from Orange County, this year, however, we were black with an orange and red sunburst. Next year I hope to try to get a switch over to black and white, but that may or may not happen.
Ours is blue bold and white. School colors for two of the three schools our team represents.
Ours are orange and black and sometimes white for t-shirts and what not
we don't change them except some times our t-shirts are combinations of orange and the other colors

As a corporate marketing guy, I'd make the following suggestions to any team (especially rookies) as you develop your "identity" over the years:
1) Picking a team color that leverages your school colors is a good idea. Picking a team color that also leverages the colors of your main sponsor is also good if you plan to have that same sponsor for many years.
2) be sure that your color scheme, logo, etc doesn't violate any rules of "corporate identity" as defined by your school or sponsoring corporation.
3) make sure that your team name and logo can stand-out on whatever color scheme you choose. If the background is multi-colored (e.g camo or tie-died), then consider a white-out frame around the name/logo
4) The team name and number (obviously) must not change from year to year, so pick a name that you, your school, and the sponsors in your area can live with. Pick a name that sounds good when iterated by the MCs during the events.
5) Team colors also should stand-out in a dimly-lit event venue and/or in your school hallways. It's OK to have multiple teams with similar (or almost identical) attire....lots of "pink" htis year as well as camo on multiple teams.
Our story???? School colors are red & black.....corporate sponsor's colors are red & black......weird.......our corporate sponsor is a government/militray supplier of communications products, so we started wearing a special red/black version of camouflage that has now become our pervasive "identity"........so much so that we won the 2006 Imagery award at the Boston regional.

It's really effective, you guys completely stand out in a crowd. I have seen other people wearing those same pants elsewhere, and I always do a double take to make sure it's not someone on Rolling Thunder.
177 has been Maroon & Gold for 8 years now. It's our school colors, so it works well. It's really hard to find things in maroon and gold though, so this year I decided to change it to dark red and yellow for all purchases.

Team 75 is red, yellow, and black. Our school colors are burgandy and gold but those are hard colors to make banners and print out of, so we simplified them. And black is just black, it goes everywhere. We used to have black shirts, but this year we had red shirts.
And if our robot determined our colors, we'd be SILVER and a little red and black. Our robot doesn't get decorated a lot, so it remains metal.

Orange and blue are... none of our school colors... none of our sponsor colors.

Brown and yellow. Yeh we're the team with the gigantuam UPS on our shirts. We're kind of hard to miss. O yeh the driver had a huge beaver hat on.
Our colors are black, yellow, and turqoise. Our school's colors are silver and columbian blue (our turqoise is similar, but we decided the columbian blue looked a little too weird on our shirts to use).
These have been our colors for the past 3 years; in 2001 we were black, red, and turqoise; in 2002 we were yellow (the shirts themselves were yellow, SO bright), black, and red; in 2003 we were black and red (with a little yellow).
How many other teams had trouble deciding/keeping a name? Over the course of 6 years we've been named Mr. Roboto, RPM (Radio Active Pajama Monkeys), RPM (with a refusal to give an acronym, so just RPM), Armor Plated Serpentines, and Cobra Commanders (we actually voted to be called 12 Fluid Ounces at one point as a tribute to Mountain Dew, but the name was changed when a poll showed the average student thought of something else from the name).
Woah, bringing back a four year old thread. That has to be a record.
Oh, and maroon, which, for some reason we call crimson.

Correction Caroline...
The Buzz and the Buzz smile have a lot to do with eachother. One year way back in the 90's there was a suction cup on the robot to pick up large yoga-sized balls. An engineer felt as though something was missing, and made a smile and placed it inside the suction cup. Hence, the Buzz Smiley Face.
And I layered with one of my Buzz shirts today. :)

I was aware of the story of how we got the smile! I just meant that the word Buzz (after Buzz Aldrin, yes?) was not related to the smile. We got the two separately, rather than having a name and a logo that are related. (Such as 33, the Killer Bees, there logo is a bee)

Orange and Black are the official colors of our team because they are the official school colors Our team shirts used to be a tie-dye orange. Three years ago; however, we made the switch to darker blue tie-dye (why blue? I have no idea) for our shirts. This year in Boston, we sported solid blue shirts on Saturday, in addition to our normal tie-dye on the other days. Our robot is usually orange and black, but the % of the robot painted varies year to year.
