Otherwise, go Wings, go Pistons, and hey, the Wings just won in double overtime. COOL!

I'm not really a hockey fan, but I guess I'm obligated to root for the Habs, like everyone else in this hockey-crazed city (Habs == "Les Habitants" == Montreal Canadiens, for the uninformed). Too bad they're up against the Carolina 'Canes, who are doing very well, in the first round.

The Pacers have certainly been struggling this year, but they MAY have finally figured it out at just the right time. For better or worse, I'm behind them all the way. GO PACERS!

I wouldn't mind if the Pistons won it. Ben Wallace, The Prince, Rip, Sheed and Chauncy are pretty much unstopable except for Rasheed getting those Technicals. I also like the Cavs because of King James, Mavs are also pretty good, If the Heat get one more, Shaq will have a ring on each finger. If the Lakers win it, Phil Jackson will have a ring on every finger on both hands. This ought to be good,

I guess it is good that the Hawks doubled their wins.. too bad that is still less than 30 wins. Just wiat for next year, tehy are gonna double it again.

Doesn't the same guy that owns the Pisotns own the Tampa Bay Lighting. I rememeber he owned the WNBA champs the same year he owned the Pistons.

And sorry, the tigers are going to lose to teh BRaves, and the Falcons are going to take teh Superbowl. And 1st place is staying in Atlanta. lol jk jk

yea bill davidson owns both the lightning and pistons. the shock (wnba) are controlled under the pistons, as every WNBA team matches up with a NBA team. in '04, the Lightning, Pistons, and Shock all won their championships

I will be gone from my pistons and my wings for the championship. It is ok howevere because in my English class we do a ritual before every pistons game. We didn't do it last time and Rip turned his ankle, just like we turned our back on them.

This Miami chicago series is getting tough. When Dwayne hit the ground, I thought of him doing that commercial where he kept getting up after falling down. This time it took like 5 minutes. This is going to hurt the play of the heat. But that amazing pass he made to Alonzo Mourning a few plays before was AMAZING.

originally being from colorado, i've gotta be plugging my teams. i've been an overly dedicated fan of the avs since even before they won the cup in 96. i've got 3 star player jerseys. Sakic, Roy, and Forsberg. sadly, i cant wear forsberg anymore (philly got to him i guess). i'm very glad they knocked out dallas though.

also, every morning during nationals i'd wake up in the hotel, rush to the door to get the free usa today. i'd rip out the sports section to see if the avs had won, and if edmonton had knocked out detroit yet. on saturday they didnt have the paper, and the tv in the lobby had some local news on it and we left before sports even happened.

Cleveland hasn't won anything since 1964. I challenge ANY city to beat that level of futility. Fate does not smile kindly upon my sports town. Where's the media attention for Cleveland now? People write stories about Boston and Chicago and their "curses", and now that they've won, you hear nothing about Cleveland.

WHEN we win and the media comes a' callin to kiss our posteriors, I hope the teams tell the mediots to take a hike.

Apparently not, WINGS DOWN IN 6!

Jose Theodore=beast (50 saves on 52 shots in Game 5 of the Colorado-Dallas series, 3 OT wins in the series)
Sakic, Brunette, and Hejduk are looking pretty unstoppable right now on offense too.

Im going to be persecuted for saying this, but I like the new NHL. Pre-strike, who ever thought that the Top 4 seeds in a conference would be upset in the first round? Who also thought that the #8 seed would play all around better than a #1 seed?

If you don't know who I support in the NHL by now, just look at my picture. :)

Oh, and nobody expected anything out of the Pacers this year after the first 2 months of the season, especially after Ron Artest decided to have his brain fart.

They are good...wait LeBron is good.....but they are not good enough to even think about winning.
Maybe come back in a couple years and they may have a chance.
But right now, the Pistons win the east.

Note the presence of Mr. Sarcastic Smiley Face in my above post. That being said, I think extending the series to six games is a possibility.

The Cavs are not simply LeBron James - they have a dangerous supporting cast that if motivated, can cause some serious damage.

I hope the Pistons are as complacent as you are about this series, but unfortunately, I feel that isn't the case.

So I just finished watching the Lakers Suns game. Suns just won my like 30 something. it was beautiful. My thoughts on the Pistons Cav's game
Pistons: No "star player"(yeah right). a very good team
Cavs: King James is amazing and is trying very hard to make it more of team ball.

I think that the pistons will win it becuase they have been tehre before, they play better team ball. If you shut one of them down completely, you still have 4 other really good scorers. If you shut LeBron down, you don't really have anyone else.

First off, Hockey is the biggest sport in Detroit. Every person can name at least 5 members of the team. Also, there was at one time a song that named the entire Red Wings team during the play-offs in 97-98. It is the only team other than the Pistons who is successful. Also, the Red Wings can do no wrong, even if they are knocked out in the FIRST ROUND. :(

Second not only did the Pistons beat the Cavaliers by 27 today, I predict it will be more on Tuesday. I also predict the sweep. They will beat the Nets in 6 games. Finally they will beat the, Wait for it, Phoenix Suns (Yes I'm Just that crazy) in 6.

I am kinda worried about the Clippers coming back in the Clippers- Suns series.
I am saying the Mavs in 6 or 7.
I am really happy that the Cavaliers got a win in. However I say Detroit in 5.
The Heat NJ series is going ot be tough for me to gauge since the Heat play so sporacially and I have watched the Nets very little. However from what I have seen, I am thinking 7 games, Heat.

Yeah, Cavs are beasting this series. I believe that the announcers were right when they said that the Pistons are trying to outscore teh Cavs vs. playing their typical unstoppable defense and thn shooting decently.
This mavs and spurs game is ridiculous right now. As much as I hate to say it, Duncan is playing better than I have ever seen him paly. He just hit his 12th consecutive shot and hasnt missed today.

Travis Hoffman
19-05-2006, 21:49
It's over. Good luck to the Pistons against Miami.

The Cavs have been getting lucky as heck - blowing too many easy layups and such for several games now. It finally bit them tonight. They are a Cleveland team so they will lose after making their fans feel like they were on the brink of something truly great, of course. It's a tradition unlike any other.

I was never on the poser bandwagon to begin with. I've been a Cavs fan since 1992 (Price, Daugherty, Nance, Ehlo, Hot Rod - the good old days); just one with less than stellar expectations. I expected 2 wins at most in this series. 3 in a row was a pleasant surprise. 4 wins in a row against the Pistons - fate is not that kind to this city. I haven't put full effort into "believing" in any Cleveland team since the 1997 World Series. That one hurt....a lot. A Cleveland team has to earn it all before I'll ever set my expectations and emotions that high again. Until then, I will always be reserved in my passion for supporting a Cleveland team - and I've got 42 years of evidence on my side to back me up (1964 - last time a Cleveland team won a Championship). Last year's Indians almost got me doing it again, but not quite. Good thing I came to my senses, too, considering the typical last minute "Cleveland Collapse" that occurred.

Regardless of the outcome of Game 7, the Cavs showed the NBA that the Pistons are vulnerable (and periodically whiny under pressure). This series played with their minds. I enjoyed watching the Cavs because they play great as a team and LeBron makes everyone around him better with his unselfish play. I look forward to seeing what happens.....next year. One mini-miracle would be achieved if LeBron resigns with the team this summer. If that is the result of all of this unexpected success in the 2006 playoffs, then I suppose that's winning a mini-Championship of sorts. I'll gladly take that.

I totaly agree.
The Cavs showed that next year, 2 years, 3 years, they will be the team to beat in the east like Detroit is now.
They showed great potential.
They are like the Pistons 5 years ago when they just started getting good.
And their coach is a rookie, think what he will do when he gets a few more years under his belt.
They will be good next year, maybe even go to the confrence finals...if they dont play the Pistons haha.

a few points
As much as I love the Pistons they are very whiny. :o
The Cav's should name the arena the Lebron James Fieldhouse to make sure he stays. :D
The Cavs will sign Larry Brown to coach this team.
Ben Wallace is leaving the Pistons for more money. :(

It may be only the 2nd quarter, but is it me, or do the mavs look like they are going to reak 120 today? They have 47 points and there are 6 minutes left in the 2nd quarter. If they continue this pace, they should hit about 121.
At this current point in time i am picking the mavs.
I think i might go witht he Heat to win their series....

Dirk Nowitzki is the MVP of the Playoffs, he hit the gametieing shot to send game 7 of the SA/DAL Series to OT, and had 50 last night

Yea i know Wade is sooo much better, we will see if he can step up tonight

Miami and Dallas in the Finals

I will go to games three and four with my old school #41 Jersey on for the Mavs.

there will be no need to have a game six

Because the Mavs will finish it off in 4!!!!!!!

o btw. GO OILERS

I am very disheartened that the Pistons lost. That means the TIgers need to bring a World Series victory home to Michigan.

Though it is very delayed, I must say, the wings and the pistons were BIG DISAPPOINTMENTS this playoff season.

First Wolverine football, then Wolverine hockey, then the Wings, then the Pistons -- There's only so much disappointment a Detroiter can take in one year. At least I don't have to wear a goofy hat and jersey at IRI this year, though...

Here's to hoping the Tigers stay true to their current #1 rank!
