What: Beantown Blitz 2006
Where: Matthews Arena, Northeastern University, Boston, MA
When: May 20, 2006
Payment Deadline: May 15, 2006
Registration Fee: $300

Team 125 (the NUTRONS) and Northeastern University would like to announce open registration to the third annual Beantown Blitz, to be held on the 20th of May at Matthews Arena. We would like to have 42 teams, which is the maximum that we feel can compete in a one day event. Registration was initially opened only to teams that attended last years event, and we guaranteed a position to returning teams that registered within the month of April. As of May 1st, registration is now on a first come, first served basis, and open to all. Off-season events provide much needed affordable opportunities for teams to get out and play. We are committed to running a quality event that will have the look and feel of a regular regional, at a fraction of the cost. We hope you can join us.

To register, go to http://www.nutrons.neu.edu/btb/ ( http://www.nutrons.neu.edu/btb/) and download the 2006 Registration PDF file. Fill it out and send it to Gina, with the registration fee, at the address listed at the end of form. Or hand in the form and fee in the NUTRONS' pit in the Galileo division at Championships.

Please feel free to email us at nubtb06@gmail.com if you have any questions or comments.

Hey Everyone lets not forget about the Blitz. Don't forget to register time is running out. I will try and get a team list posted in the near future.

Now down to business. We are looking for volunteers still. The response hasn't been as overwhelming as hoped and we still have positions to fill. Specifically we are looking for refs, but there are still a lot of positions that need to get filled. If you have an interest and want to volunteer please email nubtb06@gmail.com or you can get ahold of any member of the Nutrons, 125, and they can assist you.

We hope to see everyone from the area there and make it a great event for the third year.

Every year that 222 comes, we have the greatest time. I hope we plan on returning once again to this great event in Boston! By the way, any Boston teams interested in attending the PARC (http://tigertrons.com/2006/Pages/parc.htm)? :D

Here's the list of teams that is public.

I do know that GUS (228) is not attending and Buzz (175) is going. I'll call the powers that be to post an up to date list.

But hopefully everything will be back in working order for Battlecry!

BTW, on the list of team attending, the Gael Hawks (team 230) are from Shelton, CT, not Newington, CT. :)

Hey, you forgot the hosts, team 125!

And attending teams, get ready for the Mentor's Match! From the BTB website (http://www.nutrons.neu.edu/btb/eventInfo/):
The 2006 Beantown Blitz has an exciting new event! This year we will feature a Mentor's Match. In this match, we would like to see drive teams consisting of two mentors and a mentor as the human player.

We all know that the mentors work hard behind the scenes, but this will give them a chance to show their stuff on the field. We would also like to give a high school student a chance at role reversal by coaching this match.

The Mentor's Match will take place after lunch and will count towards the final standings, so put your best mentors forward!

I've got to say that once again, Beantown Blitz rocked. Especially the mentor matches. A couple humorous moments happened during those.

And of course, the many laughs that were had over the sizes of the ever shrinking flags I kept handing to the teams during the queuing process. :D
