Best picture I could find (the original logo carried a stick of dynamite and squeezed the globe. it looked better too.). There's an interesting story about it's origin too.

That's what the m/s/s thingie looked like before I turned it into a hunk o' junk sunk in the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean.
EddieMcD
31-07-2001, 22:33
Uh, that never happened.
Carolyn Duncan
31-07-2001, 22:39
Oh, yes it did! It was within the last 2 weeks in this forum. I'll find it and remind you. It was when you were trying to tell me I didn't know about the thingie.

uh-oh...theyre at it again...

Shut up Mike! You can put your $0.02 in too if you want.

Yes Carolyn, but that fact that it's physically impossible seeing that it doesn't live in the ocean. That, and it takes more than drilling to destroy it. Sean couldn't destroy it even with his powerful missile launcher or a nuke. And besides, if you ever got close to destroying it, Aquatread & possibly Ragnarock would come out and save it.
My point is: YOU CAN'T DESTROY IT!
mike o'leary

maybe next years game should be to destroy it
Carolyn Duncan

Everything can be destroyed. The Titanic sank, the Monitor and the Merrimac both sank, the m/s/s thingies will to sink (it ain't a sub if it ain't in the water).

Did anyone think it could be a "sub" in the sense of a submarine sandwich? :D

Matt, dear..we know it's a sub in the sense of a ocen vehicle..if you look at the website for Eddie's team..you'll see the creature all over it..you should know that, anyway..haven't you ever gotten threatened to be attacked by it in Tigerbolt? hehe :)
~Angela who could have corrected Matt in IM, but wanted to be a pest and do it here :)

In my minds eye its a big shark filled (grilled shark...yummy...I think) sub [sandwich] that is being eaten by a man.
Therefore its not destroyed...its digested :D.

Nope! Digested is liquified so that the digestive system can use it as nutrients...the m/s/s can't be destroyed! ;)

ok...put some strawberries in a blender and set it on 'liquify' would you say these strawberries are still alive and well or distroyed?

I'd say they are liquified and can be used as nutrients. They aren't destroyed though.
mike o'leary
01-08-2001, 22:26
ok...but now digest these liquified nutrients. can you use the end result of this for more nutrients or is that distroyed?

They are then gotten rid of as waste...and therefore not destroyed.

id say they get desroyed...whats teh waste treatment plant for?

Waste treatment plants are for pollutants...surely a sub isn't a pollutant. When it is expelled as waste, it is used as something to help plants grow, therefore it is not destroyed.

Ok..I'm am not totally confused..didn't some scientist guy say that you can't make or destry matter by chemical reactions..you simply rearrange the atoms/molecules? just thought I'd throw that in..whether it makes any sense or not..
~Angela who points out the chemistry she still remembers (ok..I didn't remember..my dad made a comment about it when he looked over my shoulder and read it)

You may have better luck at Super Target. they are poping up all over the indy area. they have everything.

it ain't a sub if it ain't in the water.
I never said it wasn't in water, I just said it was in the ocean.
You sure it wasn't a German U-Boat?
Carolyn Duncan
02-08-2001, 15:27
You sure it wasn't a German U-Boat?
Didn't they have some sort of problem and end up blowing themselves up? I know te fruity Brits couldn't handle them but their fruity so what do you expect?
Once you change matter too much it becomes a different form, thus it really isn't what it once was. The original object has be destroyed to make way for the newer thing. Make sense?
EddieMcD

Didn't they have some sort of problem and end up blowing themselves up?
Well, that partly explians Hitler's suicide (besides the thought of Russians getting him). What's worse than faulty missile guidence systems?
Carolyn Duncan
02-08-2001, 16:05
So by your own admission theyARE destructable! Based on your suggestion of the possibility of the m/s/s thingie being a German Uboat.
EddieMcD
02-08-2001, 16:09
I said the U-Boat is destructable, not the m/s/s thingie. I'm saying you mistook a German U-Boat for the m/s/s thingie.
Carolyn Duncan
02-08-2001, 16:13
Then what was your reference to the Uboats for?
Well reading this whole thread was a trip in itself! So I guess I saved up my two cents for sooooo long, i have to put in about 10!
Anyway, the first part started making me hungry. the whole sub sandwhich thing.
And the second part about that matter rearangement thing. Well what you were thinking of (i think) was the second law of thermo-dynamics. Which states that No Matter Can Be Destroyed Or Created
Or something like that. I don't think it's an exact quote.
Anywho
as far as this Uboat versus m/s/s thingie. Haven't you guys ever watched U-571????
Well thats about it....Peace out yall

EddieMcD
11-08-2001, 12:06
Uh, where did you get U-Boat vs. m/s/s thingie from?
Carolyn Duncan
11-08-2001, 13:04
I think it was a mix up. Eddie alluded to the m/s/s thingie being a uboat. I still maintain my position that the m/s/s thingie is sunk off the coast of RI.
*plays Taps*
Kiss it good by Eddie.
EddieMcD
11-08-2001, 17:59
No, i'm saying you sunk a U-Boat, not the m/s/s thingie.
Carolyn Duncan
12-08-2001, 00:18
Give it up Eddie. The m/s/s thingie has been sunk. It's gone. Denial is the first stage of grievance, the next one is anger.
EddieMcD
12-08-2001, 18:45
It cant be gone. It's right next to me as I'm typing.
Say hi boy!
note: the m/s/s thingie just let out a roar
Carolyn Duncan
15-08-2001, 00:17
That's anger now you're up to bargaining. Keep going, before long you'll be up to acceptance and everything will be ok.
EddieMcD
15-08-2001, 16:07
Actually, you said you were going to. You never actually did.
Besides, you'd have to get through the navy base here too.

Uh, I already sunk the m/s/s thingie Eddie. Getting through a Navy base is no prob for me, I used to live in Norfolk, NAS Ocean View ( the largest navy base on the east coast). I know how to deal with Navy stuff. Can you give directions on a base? Ever find yourself speaking in terms of klicks, farsees, and shortening names to letters? Happens to me all the time. I even bank at the Navy bank. Try again, but get used to speaking about the m/s/s thingie in the past tense. Now that the denile stage is over the next one is... I forget just skip to acceptance.

*laughs a devilish laugh HAHAHA!*
Especially when you try to kill me withsomething that no longer exists because I sank it. It's been destroyed.

ok, all..I just read this whole thread after my fruitless attempts at understanding anything Mr Topping is talking about in Lockian phylosophy (and that would be, what, class?). I don't get it. At least I"m not in the class..anyway..
You all are crazy. OK. That said..I know that the m/s/s is not sunk because many times when we were in the chat and I attempted to fall asleep, it would roar (on command of Eddie) to keep me from sleeping (the purpose of which is still unknown by me). Just wanted to add that in and keep the argument going...and know, I am not on one side or another. I just know that as of a few weeks ago the m/s/s thingie was still around. What has happened to it since is still to be determined between you all. Bye bye.
~Angela who thinks she's was just asked what the m/s/s thingie is by one of the AP Government students who saw her typing this post...yea..fun..

That was 5 days ago. You attempted to sink it long before that, and the date on this shows. Therefore, it's still alive. Face it Carolyn, you can't do the impossible.

I've had the pleasure of seeing the m/s/s thingie in action, there's no killing that thing, right Eddie? ;) No matter what happens to it... or what it gets hit with, it just doesn't go away. Kinda like a lil lost puppy dog... if you tell it to go away, it just looks at you with a dumbfounded look on it's face (where that came into play, I dunno, school is rotting my brain)

I think we need to drop this conversation for the sake of the forum. Chief Delphi is a tool and should be used as such. It is not our place to compromise the integrity of this site.
Having said that I think this conversation needs to be moved to pms, ims, or emails.
