What really amuses me about this one is that I didn't make a connection until seeing this but... My team is Team 87. There is an Aegis Equiped Destroyer, DDG 87. AND I work for the Lockheed Martin Division that provided the Aegis Combat System for DDG 87.

A by-product of the search was three pages of integral calculus (http://www.umich.edu/~chem461/Gaussian%20Integrals.pdf), seemingly unrelated to 461 except by the course number. The derivation shows why the transcendental number pi appears in the formula for the normal (Gaussian) probability density function commonly called the bell curve. So I guess 461 rings a bell ... :D

Its one thing to joke about next years robot design, Its another to put up vessels, trains or other objects bearing your schools number and on top of it all you know the history behind not just a team number on the side of a ship or robot design.

Basically this is all fun and games for the sake of starting cool rumors but on the other hand what you are really doing is educating one another about history that just so happened to bear your team numbers - later on rep points shall be given and just so i don't forget to hand them out I will subscribe to this thread =)
