from the description Alright this Lotus Elise was my first attempt to hone my skills. Being a noob at the time, I made an awful lot of mistakes that you will probably be able to find, but learned a lot on advanced tools and constraints in the process, so it paid off well. It includes an engine complete with a 4 cylindar inline engine that i made (i dont think you can really see it) complete with pistons that i animated eventually, as well as a full interior with a dash, speedometer, steering wheel, emergency break, as well as disc breaks, half a suspension system, an exhaust system leading from the engine, and an animateable chassi.
the several mistakes in it include the size of the axis (i didnt know about adaptivity or assembly drawn parts yet), slight incongruence when doing the curved hood, and i kind of did it all with vague references of size i found on the internet so it came out slightly more elongated than the real car. Fortunately i ran into one at a car show the other day, mouth watering, and i was telling the guy stuff he didnt even know about it.
How long did it take you to complete?

Yep, the son of a lady who used to live two houses down from where I live runs it. Just, went by it today, there is also a yellow Ferrari for sale there. (I think, it was, I only had a quick look, I wonder if I could get a test drive...) A Porsche dealership is also in a town next to Durham. Recently I've noticed a pick-up in pricey cars in the area, the Lotuses make sense, there is also a good quantity of Porches, I've seen a couple of Ferraris on the road, and my Father and I were stuck behind a Maserati for awhile two weeks ago. (There was a really slow moving minivan in front of a line of cars, otherwise I imagine the Maserati would have left us in the dust) Personally, I think the Lotuses and Porsches are professors/Deans at Duke and UNC-Chapel Hill, and the Ferraris and Maserati are corporate types from companies in Research Triangle Park, (<-- it's an industrial park type place, just focused on research) as Durham isn't a rich city overall.
WOW thats all i can say. wow
During the Wrap Party in Atlanta this year, there was a black Lotus Elise in the valet parking at the Omni. I think it probably belonged to one of the guys from big corporations who were touring the pits. One of my teammates gave the valet a Google pin in exchange for taking a closer look at it!
Anyway, I really like your model! 1519's main CAD guy does some AMAZING models of cars. I should get him to post a couple maybe...

yeah i admit they are hard to find. I have only ever seen 3, and two of them drove by me while i was in australia. I know that there are dealerships in New Jersey and conneticut, but other than that it is rare for me to see them in upstate NY
