C18 v2.4

So after reading the numerous threads on how to program Vex with MPLab, its quite clear that the trial version of mpLab is too new of a version to work with vex. So where can I get the 2.4 version? I looked on microchip's website but I couldnt seem to find anything about 2.4.

Is there some special FIRST link that will bring to a download screen?

Short of going and getting the discs from my school, is there any free way to do this?

I am not completely against paying for it, I would just rather it be free :-D

At the web page found at this URL you will see links for downloading the Student Edition of C18 2.4. I hear that other than losing some binary compacting optimizations after a trial period, the student edition and the paid-for edition are identical.
