Could the requirements for a WAI picture be changed so that you don't have to upload a picture for it to be a WAI, it just has to be tagged with your username?

While I see where you are coming from, allow me to make a couple of points.

People most many pictures of other people. There are some pictures posted of me, for example, that I don't want to be my who am I picture. Of course it's your decision, but things could get confusing. When it comes to giving other people rights to post things about you, you may want to be careful what you wish for.

I think he simply wanted to be able to set someone else's picture of him as his WAI, similar to the way my current WAI was uploaded by Mark McLeod (and was only changed with some Brandon Martus-provided black magic). I'd certainly be up for it.

I think good implementation of this is to look at the tagging in the code. Since you can tag any photo whoami. If a photo is tagged with both your username and whoami it will appear with the option for you to use it. I have thought about this before. But before the option is available you can always save the picture and re-upload it if you really like it.

Thank you for the clarification. I'm sorry, I was confused as to the intention of the ability.

I would think the storage space would be negligable, and an easier solution than Brandon's time to hack something for this out. That said, I don't know the backend of CD at all so take my comments with a grain of salt.

This actually wouldn't be too hard to implement.

whoami and <username> .. I'll try to make that happen later today.

Can I do this yet? A team member just uploaded a pic of me that I would like to use.

If so, exactly how would I accomplish this?

Nope, I got too busy to get that done.

PM me with a link to the picture you want, and I'll set it for you.
