I hope to volunteer. Thanks to the nice people who have offered to help me find a place to stay.

If anybody from the Chicago area is interested in attending, carpooling would also be good.

I hope to volunteer. I know this is ahead of the time, but does anybody wanna lend me a place to crash for a night since I'll be driving either from Chicago or from West Lafayette, each 5 hrs drive?

I might be able to hook you up seeing I live like 10 minutes from there.

Update: We still need a few more volunteers to round out our referee crew. Experience preferred, but not really necessary (If you know the rules, you're 90% there).

Thanks,

The number three alliance of teams 469, 217 and 815 won a 3 round battle over the number 1 alliance of 1213, 70 and 247. Good job to every one the matches were hard fought and definitely fun.

Jack, do you have the full alliance list? I'd love to see how 469 & 217 ended up together from the #3 slot. Also, 815 is a great snag by them. They were one of the top defensive robots I saw this year.

Karthik,

A lot of the selection process had to do with who was partially broken, when, and for how long each time. But I'd say the final choice came down to wanting to go into battle along side your very best of friends. We'd hope to think that 1213 are good friends with all the usual suspects in the rankings, but both Martians are very special friends. The same, I think, could be said for 47 and 33 - they go back a long way.

We have no regrets with either choice. Da Bears (247) played great for us, and never wavered from the plan, which came just a missed shot or two from working to perfection.

Very true statement. We love the Chiefs and were thrilled that they picked us. We are close neighbors and always love working together. Even though we didnt win, everyone had a great time and it was wonderful just playing with such strong teams.

It was the best event that I have been at all year I enjoyed myself and the event. I thank team 33 for being our alliance partners and even though we did not win it was great to be teamed up with you. Team 302 were awesome partners to, everyone was cooperative and things went smoothly. :) Hopefully this event happens next year. :)

Team 70 wishes to thank both Team 1213 and Team 247 for a well fought and most exciting final. You guys had GREAT spirit and drive. The energy was absolutely awesome. "On 3...1, 2, 3, RED!!!" :D I know I had a blast, hope you did too. Thanks to all who contributed their 2 cents with respect to game strategy. 247 you guys ROCKED with your defense and 1213 your firepower was most appreciated. Thanks so much for picking us to be on your alliance. And Jack, thanks for all you do!

I just wanted to say that I had a great time at the invitational. Very big thanks to all the people that worked so hard to put it on. The venue was great (cough...regional...cough) and the event ran great. I had a lot of friends and family bring their kids to watch and they all had a great time watching the robots.

We had small things going wrong all day, but for the most part ran pretty good (except for the first match) and things clicked pretty good in the eliminations. Thanks to 217 and 815 for the great times and to all the teams that made the event great. It was a lot of fun and a great battle.

Looking forward to OCCRA and FIRST '07!!!
