Hey gang,

I'm not normally into self-gratitude, but I'm making an exception here. You may recall that I made a prediction over here (http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/showpost.php?p=507854&postcount=25). Looks like it's coming true already.

Amanda is nationally published. With a cover story no less.

If you want to read the whole article, you need to find a copy of the magazine residing with your closest Technology Educator. Tech Directions is THE national publication for Technology Educators in the US and it has a HUGE subscription base. It highlights the FVC program in great detail, presents all FIRST programs and the overall message, and offers contact info for interested parties.

One week before FVC kickoff, this couldn't be timed better. The educational revolution is under way and our short, poor-donut-eating friend is one of the catalysts.

Rock on.

Wow, and some of us go our whole lives without being published! Congratulations, Amanda!
That is a great cover photo too! That alone will draw people to the article!

And, to boot, the cover features a SPAMmer. (Is that Gary Dillard behind her and to the right?)

I haven't heard of TechDirections, but if Rich is to be believed (and why wouldn't one believe Kres?) then this is awesome news. For all the threads we've seen lately about trying to recruit teachers, it's good to know that we're aiming for them in particular.

Nothing like even more to get you revved up for the next FVC season, eh? ;)

Wait, Amanda does something in between losing contests to high profile FIRST figures? :ahh:

Congratulations Amanda, hope this really packs in some new teams

Way to go Amanda! Now I really believe that one day I'm going to open up a dictionary and for the word "inspiration" it's going to say "See Amanda Morrison".

Few people outside the FIRST community seem to understand how a non-techie can get involved and make a difference. When recruiting undergraduates, I always get confused looks when I ask if there are any Communications/Journalism majors in the house :)

It's great as always to hear about your involvement and how you further FIRST's reach and inspire others. Keep it up!

Can you tell us more about the photo?

I think it was meant to capture the enthusiasm of Amanda's favorite mentor, then Sydney jumped up and took over the picture.
