As Dan (Stud man dan) requested, I am starting a new thread to discuss Robot Rodeo 2006.
This is the email all the main contacts on teams received...
Teams, want to point out that the Robot Rodeo at Colonial High School in Orlando is on October 28, (and Not the 21st as had been accidentally posted). Sorry for any confusion about the date.
Robot Rodeo is a FIRST Robotics event, playing last year's game on a full-size field. A detailed agenda for the event will be out soon.
Robot Rodeo will be at Colonial HS in Orlando; Colonial High is located on the east side of Orlando, near the intersection of Route 50 (Colonial Dr) and Rt 436 (Semoran Blvd).
More details to follow. See you at Robot Rodeo on October 28, 2006.
To register, please email me with your team number and contact name.
thanks.
Dan ..
I forget to mention his email address which is Dan.Welsh@disney.com
As of now, competition is 2 weeks away, we don't have registration info yet. Dan did ask the main contacts to send him an email back so he can give us the registration info (I am waiting on that).
... so if there is a Robot Rodeo 2006, who is going?

Thanks Arefin.
I have not heard much about this competition, maybe I've just been falling asleep during our meetings but I've been wanting some more info on this comp.
Also I'm curious to know how can we volunteer for this competition or are volunteers even needed?

1065 sadly won't be attending.
Most of our team is taking the ACT, and our only available mentor is an ACT Prompter.
I expect a detailed summary ;)

Right about now, it would help so much to see a team list for the competition.

Unfortunately MARS Team 1523 will not be attending. We had conflicts with students taking the ACT, others volunteering for a special Halloween Event at our local Science Museum, and we did not have enough notice to get proper travel permission from Jupiter High. In addition the team discovered at a recent community event that the frame of our 2006 robot is bent (probably from hauling it around lying down in the back of an Expedition) and our catapult arm is currently jamming on balls.
Wish we could be there. Good luck to all participating teams and hope everything goes well for the organizers. (Like having no monsoon rains, hurricanes ...etc.!) ;)

Consider this proper notice for the November 11th Dark Sky Festival event :-D. Its not a competition, but we should have parts of a practice field set up and plenty of robots to demo with. I don't think they can give us a team list if registration is at the door, but that shouldn't be necessary to have anyway, this is just a fun offseason competition.
