Need a quick favor from FIRST-a-holics around here, I am sure there are plenty of you with all kinds of files from past years. I need the start of the match sound, you know, the charging sound, in .wav or .mp3 format. Sanddrag and I were working on a time display for Cal Games, and Sanddrag have all the other sound, except this one.
He even have Charge2.mp3, the charge sound when autonomous mode is over and human operation takes over, and thought that was the original charge sound. Unfortunately it isn't and we need the original sound.
You can e-mail me at wheres_kenny [at] hotmail.com. Thank you very much!

w0w.. I hope you were joking.
Anyways Ken, long time no see or talk. :(
As for the sound, I'll hook you up. I'm not sure if I still have an AIM s/n for you anymore. I can look, but just to be safe PM me with your new(?) AIM screen name or an e-mail address and I should be able to help you tonight.
Glad to see you are back in the spirit of things.

If you haven't got them already, here are the 2005 versions, including CHARGE.wav.

I think the winking smily faces are a dead giveaway that Jack is just bustin' chops.

SWEET! I too have been looking for these for a while. Thanks for posting them. Now all I need now is the period-change whistle from Aim High.
I have them, but I don't know if it is OK to post them. I'll see if I can track down permission...

Well - sort of bustin' chops.
"Do I have the sounds?" - Yes. "Do I own the sounds?" - No. "Did I send the sounds?" - I plead the Fifth.
Usually this forum goes up in arms with any hint of infringement. But I guess it all depends on who's asking and whether it amounts to petty theft.

I could use the period change too. Would someone either post it or email it to me at jedigoodman@gmail.com ?
I've checked with FIRST and the sounds are public domain.
Included in the attached zip are:
3bells.wav
buzzer.wav
charge.wav
SwitchLight.wav

Ok everyone, sorry for reviving this thread, but I am now looking for a new sound they added this year to the game:
"Initiating Shut Down Sequence"
plus any new sound they may have added that I don't recemember.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think the annoying 20 seconds left one (roadrunner or something) was new this year too.

The roadrunner sound sounds like the Flinstones when Fred takes off in the car. And the Shutdown sound is from Knoppix when you shut down. That is all I know.

I believe these are close to the correct sounds, if not exact:
Initiating Shutdown Sequence.... (http://simplythebest.net/sounds/WAV/events_WAV/event_WAV_files/shutdown_1.wav)
Flintstones Running Feet (not downloadable from this site) (http://www.amazon.com/gp/music/wma-pop-up/B0000033FC001011/ref=mu_sam_wma_001_011/104-9834873-7691122)

I have no idea if the Flintstone one is copyrighted or not. I'm just linking to them. Use at your own risk etc. etc. etc.

Warning: About to go lawyering in this post and fill in with IP law explaination.
Yes technically it is copyrighted as soon as it was recorded. Copyrights don't need to be registered, they are automatic.
For instance what I am writing here in this post unless it is a statement of factual information, (think dictionary, phonebook, etc.) or a direct quote it is an artistic expression to which I am entiteld full control of.
You get the point I'm basically saying Hanna-Barbara owns the sound almost perpetually based on the laws in the books now for corporate "works for hire".

Okay, here's the trivia question -- who says "Initiating Shut Down Sequence"?

I'm not sure why but I think it's from "Spaceballs" so I'm going with Mel Brooks' wife Anne Bancroft.

I'm not sure, but the identical sound file is used in Knoppix 4.x AFAIK...
Knoppix also has a cool "Initiating startup sequence" sound file by the same person. What I'd like to hear, though, is the LCARS computer system annunciating the start / end of the match! :D
