Woo hoo!! we finally got registered for our 2nd regional - Las Vegas. Looking for help now for hotel and transportation accomodations. If you're from the area, and could give me some input on hotels close by and the availability of public transportation or whether we need to charter a bus, it would be appreicated. Team 254 is planning on attending Las Vegas as our third regional.

PINK is coming....
Technically until you pay this year you aren't registered.....if the other teams pay and the all the spots are taken you will be moved to waitlist even if it happens BEFORE the payment deadline.
Please understand that once all event spots are filled, any of the remaining "pending" teams who have not yet paid will be moved onto a waitlist for that event (even if this should occur prior to the payment deadline of 1/26/07). Therefore, no pending spot is guaranteed until a FIRST acceptable form of payment is received.
I don't like this new idea, but technically those who secure their funding immediately can leap frog straight to the head of the line....kinda sucks but whatever the divide between the haves and the have nots i guess just grows wider....

HEY PINK WE SHALL MEET AGAIN RAMTECH IS GOING!!! SEE YA THERE!!
Last year we stayed at the AmeriSuites that's right off the strip. The hotel was relatively cheap...much MUCH cheaper than anything on the strip, and it was definitely within walking distance of the venue.
The hotel was nice, the venue was awesome, the teams wonderful, and the overall experience amazing. I wish our team could go back this year, we'd do it in a heartbeat :).
Team 4 will be attending the LV regional for the first time!
Can't wait to see you all there!

Last year we had the most fun at the Vegas Regional. Unfortunately it isn't in the budget for this year. But we look forward to seeing our friends from the west at Atlanta later in the season

The Las Vegas Regional has always been a great regional, but this year looks to be the best by a long shot!

That would be awesome. On top of that, I have yet to year about a bad experience from FIRST/First Participants at the LV Regional. Maybe LoneStar next year for a NASA Head-to-Head?

Well it looks like its been done 1902 going to vegas!! Already shaping up to be an extremely competitive competition.
Also, I've noticed that this regional is going to have a lot of the USA covered a fair representation from a lot of the different areas.

Any East coast teams close to CT going to Las Vegas? I'm thinkin' about going but would like some travel buddies.
Anyways, PM me if you're from the East and going to Vegas. I'm not commiting to Vegas yet, but it seems like it would be a fun event, in a pretty fun environment.

I'm mentoring team 2150 of Chadwick Prepatory School in Palos Verdes, California; They plan to go to Las Vegas as their regional.
Watch out for team 2150 (Wick Wobots), they are mentored by some great mentors formerly of team 294 and have a corporate sponsorship from Northrop Grumman.

Will do!! I'm actually from Palos Verdes, so I was excited to see Chadwick on the team list. I'm sure they're going to be good, especially with help from 294.

1902 is officially on the list and ready to go. It will be my first experience with a West Coast Regional and I'm excited.
I see there are a lot of eastern teams representing, especially a few from our area. ( 233 , 1369, 59 etc... )

Pink is coming! You have no idea the fear that strikes into East coast teams Ms.P :) . Good luck at Vegas and West Coast people going to that event be ready and bring your A game or else Pink and 1902 will make it a rough weekend :rolleyes: . Go Florida teams getting out there.

Yup 59 is registered, payed and ready to go. All we need is the robot. Looks like we'll have to step up our game this year to the extreme, and this year the game is going to be super tough so the extra tougher competition is going to make things fun. Ya'll better get ready. Start buying extra rolls of duct tape.
i took another look at the team list, and im REALLY excited for this regional,
definately seems like one of the most exciting for next season! :D

There is a great field of competitors coming to our great city. You will find that you can have lots of fun here, even without the "sin" in Sin City...by the way, Team 987 is actually shooting for a 3peat on our home field, even though our team is not listed (a problem with FIRST processing our check right now). Can't wait to see all of you join in the fun Las Vegas style...

Paly Robotics Team 8 is currently pending for Vegas and trying to raise the money to come again. Similarly, to 987, our alliance partners last year (with the incredible team 25), we're also aiming for a repeat.

unfortunatly team 1372 wont be attending the lv regional were staying local and going to the San Diego regional

I was actually going to ask for a repeat, but since that's out of the question, how about suggestions or information you have about the hotels that are about a mile and a half away from Thomas & Mack. I looked at the sheet and there are about 4 or 5 of those, are there any you know to have particularly good or bad service or terms?

Repeat for Team 8 not out of the question by a long shot...I was just trying to say we for sure can help you with questions about visit but wouldn't begin to say we can help out with repeat without sounding over confident...something about not counting chickens before they hatch?
Not aware of any negatives for hotels listed on LVFIRST website but I will check...

We're staying at the Embassy Suites. I've never had a bad experience at any of them, and I've been to quite a few. Plus, you can't beat their free breakfast

Free breakfast might be extremly cool, and that might make us stay there (if there's room). We're currently waiting for reponses from the group quote options of a few places, and then we'll book.

Well! There are a couple good teams out west (like maybe all of them.) We make friends easily, so be sure to visit all the other pits.

And lets not forget two of the three Los Angeles Regional Champions are going out to Vegas
Fair to say this might be the most competetive of all the regionals???Not only will it be loaded with champions and finalists, but also it will be the final week after a month long learning curve...987 welcomes the challenge!

Sorry guys- the cash wasn't there this year. And it looks like we have a big trip planned for next year.....

How about 2 or 3 Arizona champions:ahh: 39,1013 and maybe 60.
39 got the best industrial design award. we were on top of the ranking list the whole weekend and never went down in AZ, I'm looking forward for Vegas.

(actually in 1999 I ran into an advisor from a hawaiian team (yours?) at the NH kickoff. He saw the shirt at the time and said "$@#$@#$@#$@#- we dont have the nerve to wear something THAT tacky at home!" ;) )
