View Full Version : Time's 'Person of the Year'
In today's Time Magazine, there is an invitation to make a nomination for the 2006 Person of the Year. They are asking for a video nomination to be uploaded to time.com/mypoy .
Here's your chance to put Dean and Woody in a great spotlight! Imagine how many creative hits they will get from everyone's video archives!

What? Is Dave not good enough? ;)
It's a shame I don't have a video camera otherwise I would submit one.

Honestly if the FIRST community decided to nominate one person not 3 the chances improve. My feeling is that Dean would have the best chance of it with his new wheelchair and other new inventions.

I agree. He's the FIRST person most out there right now.

It has to be DEAN! Woodie, errr. maybe! But I would steal him and make him a professor for one of my ENES courses in a heartbeat first.
Dave? Maybe he needs to just conduct kickoff from the International Space Station! :D :D

I really would have to say Dean. He's made great strides in technology, not the least of which being FIRST, among other things. If only I could find a video camera...

Seriously if one of them was nominated and the whole FIRST community backed them they would almost have to win good idea!

I'm not trying to burst anyone's bubble, but does Dean Kamen really fit their definition?:
"The person or persons who have, for better or worse, most influenced the news during the past year."
I believe Dean and Woodie deserve their credit, but I don't think it makes sense to nominate either of them for this award. Dean was on the Colbert Report a couple weeks ago... but other than that I don't think Dean, Woodie, or FIRST have been in the news (let alone influenced the news) very much at all over the past year.
Definition aside, that isn't to say I wouldn't *like* to see Dean win it :).
