Week 17:
SATURDAY:
NY Giants at Washington
The Giants need to win this game to get into the playoffs. Among the 7-8 teams, they control their own destiny, but with the way they're playing I don't think they're gonna pull off a victory at FedEx Field.
SUNDAY:
Atlanta at Philadelphia
Philly's going to dominate. Mora's done after this game.
Buffalo at Baltimore
Given the way that Baltimore has shut down firearm QBs and RBs, it is obvious (unless somehow JP Losman becomes an instant firearm) which way this will go. The Ravens will assure themselves of at least bye as a result.
Carolina at New Orleans
Neither team is playing for anything and New Orleans needs to come out and win to have momentum.
Cleveland at Houston
If you can beat the Colts, you can almost certainly beat the Browns. This will be a high-scoring affair.
Detroit at Dallas
Dallas's D finally catches a break.
Green Bay at Chicago
Unless that Bears D improves, they're gonna have a hard time against Favre and company. If they allowed the LIONS of all teams to hang around, certainly a Packers team with much to play for will beat them. The Pack will clinch if they win and G-Men lose.
Jacksonville at Kansas City
The Chiefs are almost unbeatable at Arrowhead in December. They were unbeaten there since 1996: that until the Ravens crashed their party. But they can still be really strong and will prevail here.
Miami at Indianapolis
Ronnie Brown blistered the Jets' last night. He will definitely have more success here.
New England at Tennessee
It's a battle of two of the NFL's biggest playmakers. If VY and company win, they'll stay alive (virtually speaking) and will need a lot of help. If Brady and company win, they can potentially steal the #3 seed from the Colts.
Oakland at NY Jets
A low-scoring contest. Chad Pennington and company need to be rock solid. This is likely an upset game if the Raiders actually ride their defense's momentum.
Pittsburgh at Cincinnatti
The Bengals' defense is improving. Carson Palmer and company may end up having a field day if Troy Palomalu gets a lot of playing time.
Seattle at Tampa Bay
A meaningless game that can only provide more momentum for the Seahawks going into the playoffs. They'll be able to pull this one off. The whole Buccanneer team needs heavy repairs and Jon Gruden has to keep his job.
St. Louis at Minnesota
Marc Bulger, like most other teams, will have a field day against the Vikings in the passing offense. To make it most effective: 2 words, Play Action!
Arizona at San Diego
Ray Lewis and company will morph into Cardinals' players' bodies and play really strong and beat the Chargers? Not. But the Ravens are the Cardinals' best cheerleaders. Cardinals win and the AFC playoffs will go through Baltimore (assuming Baltimore wins). But LT will put a bruising on that cardinal defense.
San Francisco at Denver
Is Jay Cutler the next John Elway? He's starting to look like it. Unless Denver's D steps up, this will be a high scoring game. But the Broncos will prevail and clinch a postseason berth.

Saturday
N.Y. Giants at Washington
The Giants are a mess. Even with more on the line they will put forth a weak effort.
Sunday
Carolina at New Orleans
The Panthers are running for the bus.
Cleveland at Houston
Both these teams are running for the bus but Houston won't let down at home.
Detroit at Dallas
Dallas may be stumbling into the playoffs but Detroit is experts at stumbling around hopelessly.
Jacksonville at Kansas City
The Jags hate the road.
New England at Tennessee
New England would have to play Denver. If they win and Indy loses they get the Jets and the Ravens instead of San Deigo. If there are two teams who have recently owned the Patriots in their SUperbowl years it Denver and San Deigo. They are 3-0 vs. the Ravens and the Jets don't scare themBad news for Tennessee.
Oakland at N.Y. Jets
The Jets would have to relocate if they lost to the Raiders now.
Pittsburgh at Cincinnati
It's a shame that Cincy's playoff fate was decided by an extra point snap.
Seattle at Tampa Bay
Seattle has to show up some time.
St. Louis at Minnesota
I dunno why I'm taking the Vikings.
Arizona at San Diego
The Chargers need the win to keep homefield. Thus the Cards must die.
Atlanta at Philadelphia
The Falcons are a very confused team. Do they want to be a running team? A passing team. The one thing they aren't is a winning team.
Buffalo at Baltimore
Baltimore will smash the Bills into submission.
Miami at Indianapolis
I suspect the Colts D will put forth a better effort this week.
San Francisco at Denver
Shanahan will not allow Denver to fail.
Green Bay at Chicago
Nothing the Bears would like better than to send Brett Farve into retirement with a crushing defeat at their hands.

NY Giants at Washington
The Giants can't play for nothin, even if they do make the playoffs they should be admirable and forfeit their spot to someone else.
Atlanta at Philadelphia
Philly is still playing for the NFC east...and the Falcons seemed to have lost their wings lately.
Buffalo at Baltimore
Baltimore is trying to wrap up home field, and Buffalo has nothing to play for.
Carolina at New Orleans
With DelHomme being thumbless it might be a close game...might.
Cleveland at Houston
I can't think of anything witty to say here.
Detroit at Dallas
Let's see, Lions versus Cowboys...anyone knows a lion can kill a cowboy with one swipe of his mighty paw...that and they're due.
Green Bay at Chicago
I'm not going to lie...I just want to see GB make the playoffs...although it's a long shot.
Jacksonville at Kansas City
I'm not going to lie...I just want to see GB make the playoffs...although it's a long shot.
Miami at Indianapolis
Indy can't stop nothing. Plus Miami has the prettier helmet...although the Dolphins have a picture of a dolphin wearing a helmet on their helmet...but the dolphin doesn't have a dolphin on its helmet...I smell cover up.
New England at Tennessee
New England has things wrapped up...plus I really have no interest in this game whatsoever.
Oakland at NY Jets
Let me say one thing... Oakland isn't coming to New York to play football...they're coming to watch the ball drop in Times Square, at least that's what it'll look like in the stadium.
Pittsburgh at Cincinnati
I'm going to level with you...the H at the end of Pittsburgh has always creeped me out.
Seattle at Tampa Bay
Ok well Mike Holmgren has the more impressive 'stache...but you can't even compare that to John Gruden's hair...I pick the Buc's in the battle of the lockes.
St. Louis at Minnesota
Not for nothing, but I think the Vikings' horns are just for show...the Rams' horns are the real deal.
Arizona at San Diego
A state versus a city? Doesn't seem quite fair to me, but I still think San Diego will come out on top. Plus their symbol is a lightning bolt....now if the Cardinals would change to the Phoenix and make their mascot have flames...then they might have a chance.
San Fransisco at Denver
Just because Stephanie said so.

And here is how things ACTUALLY played out with only the Packers-Bears game to go:
Week 17:
NY Giants at Washington
Atlanta at Philadelphia
Buffalo at Baltimore
Carolina at New Orleans
Cleveland at Houston
Detroit at Dallas
Jacksonville at Kansas City
Miami at Indianapolis
New England at Tennessee
Oakland at NY Jets
Pittsburgh at Cincinnatti
Seattle at Tampa Bay
St. Louis at Minnesota
Arizona at San Diego
San Francisco at Denver
STILL TO GO:
Green Bay at Chicago
However the playoff spots/seeds are finalized:
AFC:
Chargers and Ravens have first round byes, with the Chargers having the #1 seed and the Ravens the #2 seed. Chargers hung on against AZ, Ravens dominated the Bills.
Colts and Patriots both win. Colts get the #3 seed (Head-to-Head Tiebreaker).
Jets' domination of Oakland gives them the #5 seed in the AFC playoffs.
Kansas City's win over Jacksonville and the Bengals' and Broncos' losses give the Chiefs the #6 seed.
NFC:
Giants clinch the #6 seed by virtue of Houston and St. Louis victories (Green Bay officially eliminated because of Strength of Victory).
UPDATE: Packers lead the Bears 13-0 with 4:25 left in the 2nd quarter. (This is rather insignificant.)
