The browser works really well, I will try and get a picture on a better TV later. The only things missing are tabbed browsing and spell check. Oh and I'm posting from my Wii right now :)
The image isnt showing up in this thread or on the main page. Or maybe its just me.

The first website I visited on my Wii was Chiefdelphi (http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/showthread.php?p=544401#post544401) as well. ;)
The Internet Channel is a welcomed addition to the Wii menu, now I'm just waiting on the News Channel (January 27th). :)

There is an on screen keyboard.
I'm in the middle of a baseball game on it, I'll take a picture and edit this post when I'm done.

Even cooler, when you get Wiimail, it glows.
Edit: Here is some Wiiglow, thank you Kristian (calhounian) for the Wiimail

Michelle, honestly....why?
What's wrong with posting from a computer like everyone else?
It's just fun to try something new, typing on a normal keyboard is easier yes, but when there is new technology, why not try it out?

The forcast channel also came out just recently, It lets you see weather in your area at the current time, and a 5-Day forecast. You can also use the Globe option to see weather around the world. Also, at the bottom it says "Images owned by NASA"

Tom... either try a diffrent wireless connection... or you can go spend a whopping 30$ for the USB lan adapter...
Thats pretty cool that you can do such things on the Wii. Are you going to get the Opera browser for Wii when it comes out?

if you are having trouble with the wireless, switch to either channel 1 or 11 on your router.us I had the same problem and that fixed it.us P.S.IM posting this from my wii as well! :)

I saw this thread from my friend's wii (not posting there). It's cool.
One thing, I hope they come up with alternate input methods. The OSK is slow. (Personally, I'd like something like dasher (http://www.inference.phy.cam.ac.uk/dasher/).)

Dasher is nice. I think the people trying to get Linux on the Wii, WiiLi, are planning on doing that but from the looks of it they are not very organized.
only you, michelle. only you.

Ouch what a pain, can you get carpal tunnel syndrome from waving that wii controller around? Typing would be a pain! :ahh:

I like the Wii browser.
By the way, the front page with the Wii Opera browser looks oddly familiar. I wonder where I've seen it before:rolleyes: .

Actually, the on-screen keyboard is much easier to use than many would expect. Even though I prefer typing on a keyboard, I think the on-screen is a great alternative...
Though, I prefer keeping the WiiConnect24 feature off, simply because I don't want to wake up to a giant blue light in the middle of the night

You can keep WiiConnect24 on and turn off the light.

OK, it still didn't load, so I looked in the source and copied the direct URL to the image:

out into the address bar and now I see it. Not in the thread though. BRANDON!!!
PS. That is really sweet. I want to get my brother a Wii, but I've just been dragging my feet because I hate spending money...sort of....MUST BUY ALIENWARE--wait a sec...

Go to the Wii Settings, the WiiConnect24, then there should be an option for illumination or light or something.

I personally like the light. I'm not sure if this is a setting, but when there's a new update mine glows. It's like looking at the Wii and it's telling me "I have something for you :D"

ya hopefully with the finalized opera browser it will be much quicker and we will get less error messages. I dont know if its my router that disconnects every now and then or something, or if its the Wii.

Which messages/error codes are you getting? If you know it/can explain your problem in more detail, I'd recommend posting/searching in the "Connecting Your Wii To The Internet" or Wii technical discussion sections on the Nintendo Forums (http://forums.nintendo.com).
Since launch, I have not encountered any problems, and hopefully yours will have a relatively quick and easy fix.

ya, if only happens every now and then, and yes i do know of the tech support, i think it may just be my router, thanks for the help though:)

I like the Wii browser; Youtube works great on it :)
Only problem is WiiCade's games don't seem to play right, but that may be due to bad sensor bar positioning on my part...

There's been rumors that the controller for the Wii is actually getting people hurt. I mean, all these eccentric movements to control something is making people fall, old people break their hips...
I'd be much more happy with the Playstation 3. But of course, it's 600 dollars, and I can't pull that out of my pocket. .... Yeah... The only problem with the PS3 is that some of the PS and PS2 games won't work on it. It's not completely backwards compatable.

There is currently another thread where individuals are comparing the Wii vs the PS3 (and the XBOX 360)and is located here. (http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/showthread.php?t=47417&highlight=wii+ps3+line) and Just because an individual likes one console more, does not make it superior to the other. This thread is merely for the discussion about the Wii Broswer and how I have no life (not seriously), and decided to surf Chief Delphi on my Wii.
There's been rumors that the controller for the Wii is actually getting people hurt. I mean, all these eccentric movements to control something is making people fall, old people break their hips, and Japanese people run screaming, "GOZIRRA!" because they can't say 'l' very well.It is up to the individual playing their Wii console to stay safe. Nintendo includes several warnings in the packaging, in order to access the Wii menu you have to view a safety warning and most games start with a safety warning. The game where most injuries are accruing is the game "Wii Sports", now it is not the games fault as I have played this game, with very minimal movement. People are letting themselves go and not looking out for objects they should be. Examples of injuries and damages can be viewd at Wii have a problem. (http://www.wiihaveaproblem.com/)

Has anyone figured out how to get the MAC Address of the Wii? I was using MAC Address filtering for my wireless router and had to take it off in order to get my Wii to connect to Wiiconnect 24. I'm guessing I could get it from my routers DHCP table, but if there is another way, that would be lovely.

In the Wii channel menu, go to Wii settings( Bottom left corner). Go to internet, then console settings, The MAC adress should be on the first line.
