it is SO close, and i am shaking all over. Build season is the best time of the year. Better than christmas because the presents are cooler, and better than new years cause you get to stay up later ;-)
so for anyone who, like me, looks at a clock every few second and recalculates the exact time till build season, i made a nice countdown timer. its an swf file, so i had to zip it first. you can see it at the team 422 webpage by going to http://www.team422.com
your teams webmaster should know how to put it on a website easily, and if you just want to view it at home, open it with your browser and it will work.
BUILD SEASON IS ALMOST HERE OMG!
but seriosuly, good luck to all the teams during build season, and let the countdown begin!

116 has had timers for all sorts of stuff on our website for a while now :P

Also, in case you were wondering how long until the 2002 kick-off (http://team116.org/2001/home.html)

It looks ok, nice try; Also what time zone is it for? I think it's an hour off.
It's just a tad hard to read, the bright green font on the dark green / other colored background that is.
I made a countdown to kickoff that can be used with the Yahoo Widget Engine a few weeks ago... But I'm not sure where I put it.:yikes:
Kickoff is 9am EST i think. burkey_turkey is from VA so I assume it EST. In that case the clock has the correct time.

Kick off starts at 10am. Your local kick off might require you to be there at 9am.

Let's see:
Connecticut is 2.5 hours from Manchester.
I will be at Kickoff at 7am.
:ahh:
It's hard to organize an unofficial kickoff at your house, when it starts at 7am.

Good reason to get up early in the morning!

Actually, it starts at 4:21pm LMST* That is nice and late in the afternoon, so you should be able to sleep in.
*LMST = local mean solar time, Gusev Crater, Mars - local time equivalent for 15:00:00 UTC, day 54106 MJD.
I feel bad for all you west coasters. All of us on the east cost get to sleep in an extra few hours before we begin 6 weeks of little sleep.

Why sleep when you can anxiously stay up, pull an all-nighter? besides, this will help get you acclimated to no sleep, the caffeine, and nervousness. :yikes: :D

Man. I wish sleep was cumulative like that... Just save up your sleep hours before you actually need them =P

I would spend all of winter break sleeping so I can go the next 6 weeks without it.
Or like sleep a month and stay awake for the rest of the year.
Israel gets their kickoff at 5 PM. I'd hate to have to wait that late in the day to find out the game.

We're doing one in our new building for those of us who chose to stay behind and set up the field instead of going to the local kick-off. Nice big projector screen, and it doesn't start until 10 here...:D

while i am part of the contingent that is going to the kickoff at VCU, the rest of my team is a 3 minute walk away back at school in a room watching it on a big projector. unfortunently, the school wont unblock streaming video for the weekend or let us use the massive satalite dish on the roof (which they havent touched in 3 years of the 5 the school has existed) so the team is forced to tap into the wireless from Virginia Union Univeristy! This means that you get a new grainy picture every 3 seconds during a very choppy audio stream projected onto a massive screen that makes it look worse. good thing you can download the game animation later!

Trust me, you'll learn that trick when you hit college finals... Starbucks!
I can't decide if I'm excited or not for build to start. So much fun, but so much time not spent studying! Oh well, easy classes this semester!

I've always suspected that one could find glimpses of wisdom, setting priorities, and responsibility - and ways to balance them, in the contents of a coffee cup. I think you've just proven my theory, Ms. Sweet.
You'll catch the wave, not to worry.

you know I had an idea from my last mech physics class.
matter warps time yes,
time is warped more the closer you are to that object.
time is warped "slower" when you are near an object with mass(you get close to a black hole people will see you going slower while you see them going faster)
so if you lay down, as close as you can to the earth for the next week. you might just shave off a few nano secs off of your wait vs some one whose standing maybe more if your in a particularly dense area on the earth.
(ohh and dont say dig a hole cause newtons shell therom will just mess you up)
Don't feel bad for them, they get three extra hours of build time!Six, actually. Count 'em: 7:00 AM start on kickoff (10:00 AM EST), and 12 midnight ship local. Easterners ship deadline is 9:00 PM our time. 3+3=6.

This is totally staying up on my desktop until kick-off. I was hoping I could stay sane for a few more days, but it seems I can't keep the kick-off frenzy from taking over me.
5 days 40 minutes to go wOOt!!

looks like I have <5 days to stock up on energy drinks.Speaking of energy drinks, I recall that a truckload of Red Bull (http://www.chiefdelphi.com/forums/showthread.php?t=47098&highlight=red+bull) vanished under mysterious circumstances right after the 2006 Championship. Was it ever found?
it's only second period, and already my friends are sick of me saying 'four days til KICKOFF!'
can you tell i'm psyched?

Israel gets their kickoff at 5 PM. I'd hate to have to wait that late in the day to find out the game.
In general, people spend 1/3 of their lives asleep, so you would probably have to sleep at least half as long as you were planning on staying awake.

Three days left~
Can't wait, I've been sleeping like 12 hours a day because I have nothing else to do -.-; Ah well. Guess I should finish my powerpoint for kickoff.

Yea well, I wish that was the biggest disatvantage of beeing an Israeli FRC memeber.
I have already cahnged my bio-clocl, so now its set just like yours...
Actually, CD has helped me oput with that, cause i have to be awake when u guys are active, and thats a propper time there, here it's usually 3 am -11 am =]
It's also great cause there is no one disturbing me...
And...im already set to having no jet-lag when i come to the championship WOOT!
One little disturbance called millitary though might ruin it...getting recruited for 3 weeks on Jan 10th...gonna think of FRC the whole time...
You think three days is bad. Its around 2 days and 19 hours and some odd minutes. I cant wait:yikes:

1 day, 1 hour and 19 minutes until kickoff starts. This game is looking to be amazing. I am so excited.
On a separate note. I remembered a commercial from the 2005 Super Bowl that I thought was fairly appropriate for today: "Tomorrow we are all undefeated". (http://youtube.com/watch?v=EkfYEAazwo0)

Another way is VLC if you have it.
Copy the link location. Go into open network stream in VLC and use that under http to view it. looks good so far.
