Is it legal to use gearboxes from previous year's kits on this year's bot? The rules aren't very clear on this. Our team is wanting to avoid the new planetaries until we know more about them.

until some one can fine those gearboxes for sale somewhere, they are not legal.

atleast thats the way I read the rules on that

That isn't the exact gearbox in the '05 and '06 kits--you would have to use these instead to be legal--but they offer the same gear reduction as the old kit transmissions.
