I had some time off today, so I was able to finish my Rack 'N' Roll Game Simulator. In the past, someone has always made a game simulator, but I had never had time to do my own.

However, with the importance of strategy in this year's game, I decided to make one right away. And so I thought I would share it with all of you as well. It only does scoring for the rack, as it isn't too difficult to add bonus points as desired.

Directions are included right in the program. Windows users can run the EXE, while everyone else can just use HTML-embedded SWF version instead.

I haven't been able to find any bugs or issues with it myself yet, but please let me know if you find something so I can get it fixed.

Very sweet, thanks a lot

This should help out our strategy team immensely... Sure we still built a mini rack out of PVC and washers to test with, but this is so much easier... lol

Hmm, the rack spots never show anything on mine. Is that supposed to happen? Because the boxes just stay blank, so I can't really tell what's going on.

Make sure you extract the images folder as well as the executable file. If you don't have the images directory, you'll only see the grid and the small numbers where the images should be.

Hmmm, this is something that I would love to run with my students tomorrow but I can't get it to work. I extracted all the files, is there a reason it may not run on my computer?

It requires Flash Player 8 to be installed, though if you run the EXE that shouldn't matter. If the EXE does not work, simply open the included HTML file, which will allow it to run in a web browser. I will be posting it on our team site within the next day or so.

WOW this simulator is very useful... thanks!

However, it runs fine for 4 "matches" or so, then the gridlines dissapear and the rings can no longer be placed. It's easliy alleviated by closing and re-opening, but you still might want to look at that

I've gotten a problem where the grid disappears and is still gone after a reset. It's happened in a couple different scoring configurations, but I can't get it to fail consistently - i.e. a certain arrangement will make the grid disappear one minute, but not the next....

its great:) but it would be nice to have a way to undo a ring so in case you make a mistake you can fix it without hitting reset. another quick thing to add would be numbers over the grid indicating the column
