after being jelous of a co-op on or team of having a wallet made completely out of duck tape, i decided to make my own. i found a site with pretty good instructions (http://home.san.rr.com/repapyob/ducttape.htm). I followed the instructions for the basic layout of the wallet but when it got down to making the viewable window and the pockets for cards, i started to improvise.
The wallet was first made out the origional grey duck tape, but then i covered it with the deglo orange duck tape to brighten it up. i did not cheat and cover up my wallet. It is 99.9% all duck tape, all except for the plastic viewing window for my drivers liscense.
Enjoy the pics!!

A couple seasons back my soccer team needed to water proof our cleats. It was pouring and we had to play anyway, not a problem to play in the rain just the puddles that were the depth of baby pools really? We went to the hardware store before we got to the field and bought 2 of every collor duct tape they had. Too bad noone had a camera with them, by the end of the game the tape was most of the way off our cleats. Oh well, it worked anyway. I also know people who have made wallets, sandals, clothing, and many other things out of duct tape. The best was a guitar thet really worked and had good sound.
Edit: David was the $50 necessary?

I wish I was so poor tat I had $204.00 in my pocket. I have $1.24 in my checking account, then again just spent $1000.00 for one college class... I have no gas and don't get paid for 2 weeks.

do you have any ideas of what i can do with all that money? j/k
the only reason i have that much money is cause i don't like to spend it. i usually put it in the bank or pay for gas (which is now around $1.30). the invention of the .mp3 has saved me a lot of money. my bank account will get drained once we get into roboitcs season. i won't have a job and our trips are gonna cost around $700 each this year. so i gotta save it.

Wait a sec, you pay $1.30 for gas? EVIL!
Anyhow, what drains my money is usually FIRST, and every other year, a band trip. The band is going to Disney at the end of April, and I think it might be the same weekend as nationals, so that makes decision making a lot easier (not to mention fund raising).

I useually spend more money during FIRST too. Gas down here is $1.21 hehehe if you know where to go, other plces here it's about $1.28. That's better than when I lived in VA. We payed around $1.58, after the prices dropped a bit. Anyway, I'd put the money in a bank account too. If anything you can save it for school. I think I remember you saying you'll be a senior, right? Don't forget about Prom, you might want to go. Most people who say they dont wanna go or don't care if they go usually change their minds and want to go.

I made up my mind my freshman year that I don't want to go to any of my proms. No biggie though. I have plenty of fun on band trips and the FIRST competitions.

yeah, i'll be a senior. i'd like to go, but i don't really have anyone to go with. oh well, it's cheaper...lol
Yeah, robotics is costly. So's band. I'm in both. Go nerds! Right now I got a nice stash but prom ate a big chunk of it. Not my prom. Someone I met thru robotic's prom. Who'da thunk it?

how the heck did this thread get soooo off topic of the origional topic?
Clark Gilbert

Actually i think it was u (david) and Caryoln that took it way off topic....lol
It went off topic when both of u started talking about money...:D

Money goes in wallets, so we're really not that far off topic. That is untill I bring up more about prom. I didn't go to my prom, I kinda regreted it but not really. I only went to one other dance at my school and I had gone to a friend's prom. I didn't have anyone to go with to my prom either, oh, well can't do anything about that now. The only thing I can say is that you'll change your mind. Don't miss the chance to go, you'll regret it. turst me, have I steered you wrong?
EddieMcD
12-08-2001, 18:40
Well no, you never have steered me wrong. I just already decided on it, plus I probably wouldn't find anyone to go with.
Prom was so much fun! It was one fo the best nights of my life! I had a wonderful date to the prom (hehehe Yeh FIRST). He does FIRST too, come to think of it, out of the 4 proms and 1 semi I've been to in high school I've gone to 4 of them with people I've met through FIRST, 2 of them were the same boy :) he's a sweetheart. I love FIRST people they are nice ;) !

Prom with FIRSTers is awesome, esp FIRSTers you dont see every day. Why? Cause if you dont see them every day, then all you've really seen them in is....well, their team stuff. And it's so spiffy seeing them clean up so well ;)
Eddie, don't close yourself off to the idea just yet......keep your mind open, and I bet it'll work itself out. Cant find a girl in school to go with? Then make a decision to go with someone from another team as friends...but please, keep your mind open.

#1: The closest team to us is about 50 miles away.
#2: The school doesn't allow out-of-towners to their dances/proms

How bout any past graduates of your school?
Not giving up on this one, though I wont force you ;)
EddieMcD
14-08-2001, 11:20
Hmm... I got to know a few past graduates. The problem is finding wherever they might be. But the school allows that.
Carolyn Duncan
14-08-2001, 23:19
I really regret not being able to go to my prom. You should go to yours. Not letting out of towners go is really bogus. I thought my school was bad, we had to give the name and phone number of our date to the school when we bought tix if the other person was from out of town or another school. Another suggestion is to go to prom at another school. That could work. Or you could just have someone claim to be someone who graduated many years before... Might work but I'm not pushing for deceit.

Or you could just have someone claim to be someone who graduated many years before...
That definitely wouldn't work.

Why? People change. Teachers don't always remember every student and there are bound to be new teachers at your school.
EddieMcD
16-08-2001, 16:33
Yes, but we have to purchase tickets in advance. they check the names of everybody.
Carolyn Duncan
16-08-2001, 16:37
Who says you give them a name that was not a graduate. Do they call these people or something? Your not good at sneaking around are you? Once again I'd like to say that this is not gracious or professional and I am not sayin that this should be done.
That was just my disclaimer because this is a family site.
EddieMcD

Hehe.
Your not good at sneaking around are you?
I'm very good at sneaking around. I'm short, quick, and stealthy.
Who says you give them a name that was not a graduate. Do they call these people or something?
Hmm... you do have a point. But now we're back to square one: finding someone to go with.
Carolyn Duncan
16-08-2001, 16:51
I'm sure you'll find a wonderful person to go with. Once school and FIRST season start it will be easier to find someone to go with.
