Hey, we were just going through the electrical rules in the manual, and comparing it to last year, when we saw that the wire restrictions were not there. Are there no restrictions, or are the rules the same as last year? Thanks a ton.

There are restrictions on wire gauge size. Please read section 8, robot rules.

Section 8.3.9 should detail all the wiring guidelines and restrictions for this year.

8.3..9
<R86> All wires distributing power with a constant polarity (i.e., except for relay module, speed
controller, or sensor outputs) must be color-coded as follows:
• Use red, white, or brown wire for +12 Vdc and +5 Vdc connections.
• Use black or blue wire for common (-) connections.
<R87> 12 AWG or larger diameter wire must be used for all circuits protected by a 40A circuit
breaker.
<R88> 14 AWG or larger diameter wire must be used for all circuits protected by a 30A circuit
breaker.
<R89> 18 AWG or larger diameter wire must be used for all circuits protected by a 20A circuit
breaker.
<R90> 24 AWG or larger diameter wire must be used for connecting sensors such as: switches,
potentiometers, accelerometers, and other sensors. 24 AWG or larger diameter wire must
be used for connecting a vision system to Robot Controller inputs, and for extending the
PWM cables, for the small muffin fans, or for wiring LEDs. It is acceptable to use ribbon
cable smaller than 24 AWG to connect to the 9 pin ports on the Robot Controller.
