I am the person assigned to programming and I have no idea how to get started. I've gone through the slideshows and the information books and I am still absolutely clueless. Can someone help me get started?

It's very hard to give someone a good beginning tutorial on a forum such as this. I think your best option right now is to find another local team and suck on their brains for a while.

Brain sucking is definately an option, but we're not really meeting up with other teams until we get it all figured out (then they can tell us what we did wrong!). , and that won't be until sometime next week. I really wanted to get started so I won't get stuck later.

Are you using Easy C pro? if not ,that may be a good place to start .Its very simple and they have some great help files and lessons.

I've been looking at the slideshow they have up, but I am completely new and don't understand most of it. Easy C Pro hasn't been much help as far as explaining things to me...

Try Reference guide (http://www.ifirobotics.com/docs/rc-ref-guide-6-13-2006.pdf) to understand how the hardware works.
