View Full Version : What does your robot ACTUALLY do?

I know that there are some polls out there asking what robots can do what, but these were out before teams built their robots.
Looking at your bot now, what can it do?
Referring to Big and Small, meaning 28" wide for small and 38" wide for big (not really any bigger or smaller, just orientation)
And if your robot is close to one of the above, but is not exactly, please leave a comment describing what it can do. And if you have meccanum, put your robot as Small (if applicable), because it can climb small ramps (that's what I'm interested in)
Thanks for your help!
Jacob
I think that poll has the most selections out of any I have ever seen.

I could have made more.... To select whether or not you have meccanum... But the limit is 25, and that would have required 38....

Right now, it drives around....hopefully tomorrow it will do a LOT more!

It could have been better to allow people to place multiple votes, and have all the different sizes/stuff as a single option instead of multiple times. Then you could also make it so you can see who voted for what to find the combinations.. a little harder work but much neater lol.
Interesting poll, if everyone answers truthfully should get some idea of how the game will be this year.

I toyed with the idea of options, but I wanted to see what a robot did as a whole. Just having options would not tell me how many robots with a wide ramp can only put tubes on the bottom row.
We are just trying to figure out what configuration we should leave our robot in. We have essentially built two sets of materials, one for offense, and one for defense, but the weight constriction does not allow us to incorporate both. We are just trying to get a feel for what other robots can do, so that we know how to configure ours. This is why answering *We can do everything* when your robot actually can't doesn't help anyone.
P.S. It's not like anyone can see what you put, so please answer truthfully.

By "ramp", do you mean the robot can drive upon other robots, or have other robots drive up on it?

The first size (i.e. Big robot) means the size of your bot.. I'm assuming that 28" bots can climb up a very moderately sloped big ramp, along with 38" bots. I'm also assuming that 28" bots can climb a very moderately sloped small ramp, but 38" bots can't.
The end part (i.e. can ramp big and small robots) mean what can your ramp hold? I don't really care how many bots your robot can hold (I guess I could create another poll for that), more as the configuration of your robot.
Does this make sense? (Going on 37 hours here....)

We can host two robots of pretty much every size at the end of the match, and score on the bottom rung fairly fast. Our drive base is 38" wide, and 28" long, so we probably won't be able to fit on a lot of ramps, but that shouldn't bee too much of a problem... :)

We have decided to do almost exactly the same thing Cody, except we have meccanum and can climb up 28" ramps. We are a mega platform, with a scoring scoop on the end (for low goals only...)

Edit: I'm sorry. I didn't know that bumping was frowned upon here. I won't do it again....
