This is so very cool - and so very FIRST.
I will be sure to vote for you, and tell everyone I know.
Since we will be at the Championships in Atlanta when the award show is on TV on the CW, we should invite other teams to come and watch it with us.

Awesome job Jacob!! Great program! I voted!
Thanks guys!!
And I forwarded your team leader's email to my team to vote as well :) Good luck!!
If anyone else wants a copy of this email, PM me and I'll send it to you. We sent it to everyone going to championships because we simply went down that list of teams and went to their website to find their main contact's email.
Pump up the vote!!
Unfortunately, the winners will be determined by the candidates that have enough contacts to drum up enough votes, not by any other means (like merit.)
Let's show them what the FIRST community can do! Continue to vote - and tell your teams and friends to vote... and they'll tell a few friends, and they'll tell a few friends........:D

Remember....Breathe in.....Breathe out...repeat :D
Hoping everyone had a chance to vote..... and to pass the word on to vote. There's still time - Until Noon tomorrow - Monday.:D
And for the those of you looking to watch a great show, the Awards (dubbed as the "Oscars of youth service awards" by CNN) will air on the
CW Network this Thursday, April 12, at 9pm Eastern time, right after Smallville.
Some of the presenters will be Susan Sarandon, Jamie-Lynn Sigler (The Sopranos) and Brian Greenberg (October Road). Mandy Moore and Dashboard Confessional will be performing (and of course you'll get to see the montage that MTV did on Jacob). It will be a great show to watch - we'll be watching it in Atlanta!
So if you haven't had a chance to watch Jacob's self-produced 1 minute video (it's actually pretty cool) you can catch it here and then vote:

Jacob:
Can you give us the update? I missed the show... Who won? How was NYC for the award announcement?

Thanks for asking.
The Awards ceremony and show was absolutely amazing. It was held at MTV studios and the Nokia Theatre in Times Square, NYC. I had to arrive on Monday to meet with wardrobe and have my consultation on what to wear….. Then I was there all day Tuesday to meet with the speech writers, practice, practice, practice, do hair and makeup, and hang out with the celebrity presenters and talent: LeeAnn Rhymes, Mandy Moore, Wyclef, Dashboard Confessional, Susan Sarandon,… the list goes on and on. It was so totally awesome to meet and hang out with the other BRICK winners. They are some of the most incredible people I have met. Then we had to do the red carpet outside of the theater in Times Square, with tons of media interviews and photo ops. We were on a lot of news shows, like E! and others. There was a swanky cocktail party beforehand (although we had to do media shots during most of it) and a dessert bar after. And the Awards show was just awesome. The set was built just for the Awards and was incredible, and the producer has done the last couple of SuperBowl half-time shows. It truly was like being at the Oscars or Emmys. The next day I went to a salon in NYC and had my hair bleached and dyed for the FRC Championships, and flew directly to Atlanta, for another awesome event!
Anyway, the first 10 minutes of the show is now on DoSomething’s website:
http://www.dosomething.org/brick/theshow
and, my award segment is there, in the first 10 minutes, so you can see it!
I did not receive a golden brick, but just getting the BRICK (and $10k for my organization) and being there was so cool. Oh, and I'll be on the back of Doritos Nacho Cheese bags starting in May sometime.
Thanks again, everyone in the FIRST community for all of your support and voting for me!
